More birds.
This time heading off across a large pond to somewhere else.
Possibly to a source of food.
I think that seeing birds run along water for whatever reason is always something that is in a way fascinating to watch.
I hope you enjoy.

A photo of a feathered friend in the process of landing.
I like how it appears here. Sort of still, but also sort of in motion.
I also like that the water is not heavily disturbed.
I hope you enjoy.
So Mark Hollis died and time passes on by and things are going on beyond for far longer than the clouds that drift on through the endless expanse of sky that seems to hang above us all.
It was the greatest of birthday presents; not the death, but the memory and the influence.
I listen to his music now as I write, for it means something greater than just a small, small, token gesture.
Those sounds that are penetrating my ears are just wonderfully composed. Free and stretching and expansive and more atmosphere than most artists can ever hope to achieve.
I have to think about what I’m listening to as it leads me on a journey, but really I need to just let it lead me on and give up to its sound, for there is an experience to be had. There is an image. A vast plain that stretches across and hard clouds among a strong blue sky. There is a wind that blows and I am journeying through the field at a fast pace.
There is a world and a beat and there is some sort of tension there, but there is also a feeling of peace. There is something more palpable than what one could ever hope to palp, or so they say.
A tenderness exposes itself in the space between the notes and I am merely here and I am waiting and I am led along by what I am hearing. There is a form of rage, but it is not one of anger. It is a sound that is granting itself a form in which it can be experienced.
That is what is coming out of my fingers, at least. To be honest I don’t really know how to describe what it is that I am hearing other than in terms that give it a certain form of colour, but even then that may not be enough to say what it is and is not. It merely describes what it is in one form, as it, as well as so much other music out there has more than one facet and there is plenty of it out there that cannot merely be described with words.
Kind of a weird thing to say, I guess, but it is a way that can only be described through nonverbal (and possibly) non-visual expression. The way that some of this music could be described is best in the the form of experience, I guess.
But then again, there is an understanding that could very well be one that is personal to every person and thus one that could never be expressed due to the possibility that it is something that is purely individual rather than something shared.
Music is, after all, something that many of us get something out of in a very personal manner. It’s part of what makes it such a core component of many lives out there.
Well, that and music is an amazing thing.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:32:91
This has given me some ideas, but I really need to start making a spreadsheet of all the things that I’d like to write.
Other than that, this is kind of okay. Kind of.
I was thinking too much.
Written at work.
Was waiting for a lecture to start and letting the thoughts roll around in my mind.
Thinking about all the friendships that have and have not endured and thinking about how people are… well, people.
You know, sometimes you get to meet some really cool people in life. Sometimes you don’t and that’s okay, because people come and go and all of us are probably a lot worse than we like to let ourselves believe.
Already since the start of the year I’ve some people I was close with go and I’ve had some people come in. I’ve had people I thought that were going to be good friends just up and shift (which is something I’ll probably talk about at another juncture in time) and thus see the friendship just kind of not so much go as just immediately fizzle out, and such is life.
Yesterday after uni I decided to go for a walk through Centennial Parklands before going for a drink at a pub for a small birthday celebration. The past few weeks I’ve been thinking a fair bit about friendships and similar stuff (so not just in the time mentioned above, though that doesn’t matter right now so I don’t know as to why I’m wasting space and time writing this bracketed part).
Life really is too short to spend time on people who are just going to flip at random and suddenly become cold with no explanation.
You only have so much time in life and you don’t get it back. Each moment is gone. When you give someone your time, you are giving something that you don’t get back. If you genuinely care about the people in your life, then if they are wasting the time you give them, then it is better that you stop as that time could be better used for other things that are going on.
Of course, outside of a few circumstances, you should leave the door open, so to speak. People change and people grow and as such it’s seldom a good idea to completely write someone off.
People who decide that the idea of friendship is one that can just be discarded at a whim, or decide that for some reason they don’t have to work on it or be honest… you have to decide as to whether they’re worth having around. It hurts to cut people out of your life, but it can hurt more to keep them in.
End Rant.
I think this is the third time I’ve shared this kind of scene.
It’s probably more, but I think this is the third.
I think that this does a good job of showing a small part of the coastal environment.
The weathering in the sandstone makes for a good contrast against the smooth sky and the wavy, smooth ocean.
I like that the sandstone stands out so much partly due to its earthy colouring being different to that of the sky and ocean.
I hope you enjoy.
Another photo made possible due to the power of rainfall.
I think that the water’s form is really nice and smooth in this shot.
Part of it looks like an extension of the rope.
I like that there’s a minimal amount of detail in this photo. I think that if this had been a busy photo, then it wouldn’t have worked.
It probably also helps that I zoomed in so I could get rope and water “Close Up“.
I’m sharing this photo as part of The Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.
The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:
Week 1 – Patti
Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya
Week 3 – Amy
Week 4 – Tina
This week is hosted by Leya and next week’s will be hosted by Amy.
I hope you enjoy.
A photo taken on New Year’s Day.
Not the best view of some of Sydney’s coastline, but I think that you still get a fairly good idea of its expansiveness. You also get a good idea of how urbanised it has become.
Some of the wave action is visible here. I think that it adds a bit more detail to the photo.
I also like that part of the cliff in the photo almost looks like it’s closer to the water than it is.
This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s photo challenge.
The theme this week is “The Letter L”.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.
You can find the challenges here.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
Got an itch that I need to scratch.
Got a tail that I need to try and catch. Got things that I need to do.
Got things that I want to do.
Gotta try and reach and get back to better speeds.
Gotta try and break out of whatever the hell it is that I’m currently doing.
Not enough reading, but plenty of reading at the same time. Which one? You decide.
I know that if I keep on pushing onward and look deep within myself I will have to lay my claim to fame that everything is not quite the same. Everything seems to be a little bit off. A little bit different. Not massively different. Just slightly different.
Of course, these are not always things that get noticed, for you cannot notice everything all the time. It is only with careful deliberation on the scene and, or event at hand that which you will be in the moment in which the differences of the slight variation can be perceived, but still not without some difficulty, for you must be incredibly intimate with what it is that you are bearing witness to, which likely means that you’ve bared your soul in some way, shape or form so that you could actually perceive the damn thing that you are trying to perceive.
Then, and only then does the differences become truly apparent and then you are in the zone of discerning and in which of those zones it is, I cannot say, but I do know that it is the one that just so happens to be the one that is the correct zone in which you need to be in order to see the differences. Then, and only then can you start working toward the solution that you need to find.
Where is it?
Quite clearly it must be in the cesspit of melange, behind the fog of unveiling.
Then again, if it is not located there, than the solution to the differences to make everything back to the way it was could be behind the couch of brown. Only once looking behind couch pillows would you be allowed to look behind the couch of brown and see all of its ugly truths. Maybe you will see something of it within yourself and the truth shall set you free, or something like that.
Then you will be crying for the truth hurts, but sometimes it is a good hurt that you need to experience for if you don’t experience pain, then what is the point of experiencing love?
Sure, it’s pleasant, but these things are all so much more when you have a counterpoint to them that you can go against and see how they all work within context with each other.
But then again, if there is no weight then surely there is no light.
Now, where was I?
Oh yes.
So there are a number of things that I need to do.
I shall do them eventually.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:25:57
I went into this one with nothing in mind and produced something likely not worth reading.
Still, I like the rhythmic flow of the words, as well as how ridiculous it turned out.
Written at work.
Words. Words are a useful tool for communication. With words one can create sentences and with sentences many a thing can be communicated.
Words are useful in creating worlds. There are unlimited worlds when the use of words come into play for the creation of said worlds.
I don’t know what I’m going on about and I’m really struggling with this this morning, but I shall persevere as much as I can.
Words have lead to many a thing destroyed and created and words have done many an image a great service, as well as a great disservice. They are as powerful as they are weak. It all comes down to how you use them in the craft of crafting.
Words are very important and I don’t think that it can be overstated just how important they are to forms of expression.
Of course, that does not mean that they are always required or even useful. An important part of words is knowing when and how to use them, for they can be misused and then wrong things can be communicated if the wrong words are used.
They are a useful tool and they are one that demands the kind of respect that people just seem to not give them most of the time.
Perchance if someone were to think about this, then of course there is the possibility that they may overthink and never use words ever again and that is not something that one could consider as being desirable.
When creating worlds with the power of words, one needs to make sure that the world is structurally sound. Only then can it be one that can be rich, desolate, etc etc in some way. If this is not heeded, then the world could very easily fall apart and then you’d be left with a mess on your hands.
Of course there are also poems which are also things that usually use words.
Words can do many a thing but they must be expressed in a form that can be perceived in order to have any effect.
They also can have no meaning, for it is us attaching meaning to them that gives them meaning. They do not inherently have meaning.
Or maybe they do.
I’m still running on nothing, but I will get to the end of this as getting to the end of this is something that I very much am striving to do, but it seems that the words that I am trying to use are coming out of me at a much slower rate than I thought.
Sometimes these things happen.
I can only keep on using the words that I have to try and express something with some form of clarity, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to be an obvious clarity.
Of course that is just me making up excuses, but at least I am in the position to keep on using the words that I have in order to express.
The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:47:26
This kind of started out okay and fell apart the further on I went.
The magic of words!

Here’s a photo of Mistral Point taken whilst at Mistral Point.
I like this shot, but I think it would be better without the people.
I don’t think that you need the people in this shot to get a good idea of the size of the area and I think that they distract a little from the textural and detail contrasts between the three main parts of this photo.
However, it is kind of interesting to see most of them moving in a forward direction.
I like that moving from the grass to the rock and then to the sky the sections of the photo become less detailed in a sense.
I think that, even though there is a reduction in detail, each part remains sublime in some way. They each work well with each other due to being in a mostly natural state.
I guess that as a positive, the people add a sense of journey to the photo.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
