Train Tag

A few days ago I had the opportunity to get this photo.
I probably could have done a better job of capturing the shot, but you work with your ability.

I’m not too sure of the artistic merit of this tag. It’s not something that I have a solid understanding of, but I do think it makes the train look a bit better.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.

This one was themed, with the theme being “Street Art / Graffiti”.

I strongly recommend checking it out to see what other people have submitted, as well as checking out Leanne’s work outside of M.M.

I also recommend submitting and being part of M.M. It’s a fun, community-driven thing.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 378: Glorious Days are Hard to Come by

Glorious days are hard to come by, so there is one coming around the corner.

It can be felt among the populace of the very earth that we are on.

We know that it will be here soon.

The day will be so glorious, it will be remembered for some time.

It can be felt in the bones and the soils. It can be felt in the air and the birds.

It can be felt by all and by none who will see it coming.

When a day so glorious as this one is here, there will be as much rejoicing as there will be celebrating.

There will be a feeling of most wonderful tones and auras.

There will be many a great party and the festivities will last well into the night, with many of those participating dancing and hooting along well until the festivities come to a close and it becomes time to rest.

The birds will chirp, the dogs will bark and the horses shall neigh in some sort of festive celebration as well.

The trees shall sway to and fro, and something will happen with the ocean…

Nope, I can’t keep this up.

so I started off with an idea and it was going somewhere… sort of.

Ran out of steam. Where to go now? To the hills? To the mountains? To the valley below the valleys below the ridges that extend their ways far beyond the thick thickets of bush that obscure the edge from our vision?

I could always go down to the stream or the track in order to take a few laps around in order to try and work out where this mess of a text must go, but then again I could not and try and sit on a cliff facing the coast, staring out into some sort of abyss in my mind as gates guard the vortex that swirls away on my wall in the night, making me realise all that I am and all that I am not in order to find the consensus that perhaps dancing in the desert as America gives the go ahead is not the most effective use of ones time unless the message is strong and resonant.

I could also just keep on typing my way over the hills, beyond the horizon and along the dusty road that is set before me, for there are many many kilometres to go before I can truly declare this journey one of a significant distance. There are many things to do, but I must go caving in space first in order to make sure that I know that this silly little story is not meant to be taken in that direction, if that is indeed a direction that I can indeed take this thing.

Perhaps it is the case that the glorious day has indeed already occurred, or is occurring and right now we are living in its wondrous glow. Perhaps that is indeed the case.

Perhaps.

I don’t know what to make of this.

I think that I had a good idea and it unraveled pretty fast.

Oh well.

As Seen From Blackwattle Bay

Another test shot.

I like how the space between each building prevents this particular area from feeling overly cluttered and I also like how the colours give a bit of a warm feeling.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 377: Stuff, Should Probably get More Sleep

I really think that I need to stop staying up late for no reason whatsoever.

I’m sitting here and trying to avoid writing about my favourite subject, but due to the partial fatigue that I’m feeling, there are things that will have to sit on the back-burner in order for my favourite subject to come forth, as it is one of those days, in whichever way one of those days happens to be today.

To be honest, I do not know, but that is not why I write and that is not the reason as to why I am writing right now.

I do think that the reason as to why I am currently writing is due to a desire to write right now. That is the most likely reason, so that is the reason that should be stuck to in order to continue, unless a better reason shows itself along the way.

I need to get out of the house. Yesterday I was working on university assignment stuff and now that is done. I have two weeks of freedom before all the fun begins once more.

It’s hard life. It really is a hard life. All this studying and doing things and keeping my head above water. A totally hard life.

So much pressure.

Now I have all this spare time and I need to work out as to what I’m going to do with it, as there are things that do need doing, but there is also a mountain of laziness that I want to sit upon instead. I’d much rather procrastinate about things than actually get them done.

I think that I’ve gotten that across pretty easily, so I should probably move onto something else, but whatever that something else may be, only I shall know once I begin writing about whatever it just so happens to be at this point in time.

I think that there are many things that I could get done over the next two weeks so long as I set myself toward getting them done, but at the same time I don’t think that that is going to happen.

I think that if I continue to sit here and bash away at the keyboard, I’ll get some of them done. That way at least then I’ll have a little bit more than nothing completed and really, that’s better than less.

I could just get on with getting on and take care of everything that I do indeed need to do, but if I did indeed do that, then there would be less, unless I continued to add more on in order to remain busy.

A conundrum, of sorts.

I do think that I need to work a lot more on my writing than I recently have.

Perhaps I could think more about this whilst sipping coffee at a café and reading a book and looking aloof and distant, as though I had some great importance that needed to be displayed all day.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:46:53

Well, there’s a lot of padding in this.

I don’t thin I’m overly satisfied with how this turned out, but I do think that to an extent, it works.

Toward the Inner West, Toward the C.B.D

A few more test shots for one of the new lenses.

I’ve taken a lot of photos of ANZAC Bridge at this point and I don’t think that I’ve added anything new.

However, I do like these two photos.

Whilst they are different light-wise, I think that they compliment each other well due to being the same bridge.

I do like that you get an idea of how the bridge arcs between the pylons and I do like the different levels of development visible from the vantage point these photos were taken.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 376: Streets Glisten

The rain is falling and the plants are feeling as rejuvenated as they need to be.

Streets glisten from the water falling on them as the sun shines down on the earth, creating some sort of focused glow.

The streets are walked by the people, the light is reflected and the streets glisten and glow as the plants relish the rain and use this as an opportunity to respire in order to grow more than they usually would if the soil was dry.

I am at work and I am waiting for an occurrence to happen as there are calls to take and mistakes to make.

I sit here, waiting for the time to begin. Waiting for my time to be paid. I am waiting for the weather to clear so I can go and meet the glorious body of the ocean and feel the waves wash over me as I stand in the water, near the sand in order to be woken up and feel some sort of pleasant, peaceful sensation that I feel whenever I am there, as opposed to here, in this building of walls and bars and windows and doors.

Soon the space will be filled with the sound of voices chattering and tones ringing. Soon the space will be filled with the voices creating service for the customers. Soon the space will be filled with that which can only be heard, as atoms vibrate against each other, creating some sort of wave that passes through that our ears perceive as sound.

There are places that today I’d prefer to be, but the rain makes it fine to be where I currently am.

The rain would make it rather wonderful to be in the ocean, feeling water from all angles as the waves pass over me and knock me about as I try to ride them toward the shore in some sort of endless dance.

The sand would feel as solid as it would not.

The sky would stretch on forever and meet the ocean at a point where my eyes would not be able to see any further.

The world would expand beyond my range of seeing and be as massive as I am small in comparison to its massiveness.

I would see the grass, the trees, the land and the animals wherever I would see, so long as they were in my range of seeing.

I would write something about the beauty and wonderment of the world, but not be able to truly express just how amazing it is as, whilst words can described and express, they can only do so much, for the world is far grander than my small words. It is something that needs to be experiences in full in order to truly understand and enjoy its amazing nature that is as available to all as it is available to some.

The world is as epic as it is overwhelming, and it is a wonderful place, especially on days like today.

I think I was aiming for the poetic with this bit of text.

I don’t think I was successful.

Red Reflection

I’ve recently obtained some new lenses and have been testing them out to get a feel for how they work.

Yesterday’s photo was one of those shots. This photo was taken before the one shared yesterday.

I like how the lights are reflected  in the side of the train as a different shade to how they actually appear.

Otherwise I think the train looks pretty decent but I’m not overly happy with the focus, although I do think it does help a bit.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Silver Gull in Flight

A “Beloved” bird leaving the land, if temporarily, in order to find somewhere else for itself to be.

As much as they annoy me, I love birds. I think that they are really powerful, majestic and graceful creatures that deserve respect.

In this photo, I like how the wings of the gull are outstretched and how strong it appears.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 375: Pushing in Front of People in a Line

So the other week I was at uni, heading to work. Waiting for a bus, I was. Well, waiting after walking down a hill, I was.

Anyway, I was waiting. in a line. It would be fair to say that I was waiting in a line to catch a bus in order to get to as close to work as I possibly could in order to get to work, for the day was still young and I was heading to work in order to do my job, which is held at the place in which I work.

I was waiting in line. There was a line. A line there was and in that line I was waiting.

Some person walked up past a few of us waiting and then stood in front of us, taking a position in the line that was not behind us who had been waiting.

The person in front of spoke to the person who thought that they were more important than others who had been waiting. The person said that they didn’t see us there and didn’t know that there was a line. Apparently people standing in a line does not constitute a line.

Now I don’t know about other people, but you do not push into a line. You stand in line and you wait. Argue that it doesn’t matter? Piss off. It does matter. One person pushing into a line may mean that another person has to wait longer due to the bus being at capacity. You are no more or less important than the other people around you. I don’t care as to who yo-u think you are. You  take your spot and you wait. Don’t try to justify your selfish bullshit. Swallow your unearned pride, admit to your mistake and then get in the damn line and wait in your damn spot.

People piss me off. Can’t we all be kind and a little more aware of the people around us? Can’t we all stop pretending that we are the most important thing in the world and are better than everyone else? Can’t we be a little more grounded?

Why do people think that it is okay to be assholes? Very rarely is there justification for shitty behaviour.

I’d like to point out that it was a pretty warm day that day and people had been waiting in what little shade they could get. Someone pushing into a line and then pretending that they didn’t see the line that was clearly there did not go down well. To be fair, it wouldn’t go down well in most circumstances.

People, if yo-u think this is acceptable behaviour, then go learn about etiquette and also learn about not being a selfish asshole I know this is repetition, but the world is bigger than you. You need to realise this and start being a better person. You would piss off less people.

Or continue to be an asshole until someone starts yelling. Your choice.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:26:80

After some senseless rambling, a rant.

It’s okay.

Intellagama lesueurii lesueurii

Here is another lizard seen during the Spit to Manly walk.

I really find the form of the lizard in this shot really interesting. I’m not sure why.

I think the lizard was about to turn around. Maybe it was raising its position. Maybe it was staying in that position. I can’t remember.

I still think that this photo does show the form well.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness for this week.

I strongly recommend checking it out to see what other people have submitted, as well as checking out Leanne’s work outside of M.M.

I also recommend submitting and being part of M.M. It’s a fun, community-driven thing.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
