I think this photo looks a little odd as, whilst I know that the cockatoo is landing, it looks like it is standing there with its wings open for no discernible reason.
I do like that this is a photo that displays the power and beauty of birds.

So this morning I read that some kid who just so happens to be born into royalty can speak two languages.
Who cares? Who cares about some kid who just so happened to be born into a family who, at this stage is more famous for being famous than they are important speaking two languages?
What makes this kid so much more important than all the kids who grow up speaking two languages due to their heritage and location?
If this is news, then why is it news? Who cares about this crap?
Well, that is a good way to start this off, as I don’t think what I am going to write next is something that I can drag out.
The other day I was taking a complaint from a customer and to be honest, it was a pretty legitimate complaint. No one should be demeaned by staff.
Everything was fine until they said “I’m not one of those people from Housing Commission; I have an education”.
Not the exact words, but pretty close.
Who the hell do you think you are?
You know what really pisses me off?
These people who think that it is okay to denigrate people who are in Housing Commission.
There are bad people in Housing, but there are a lot of good people.
There’s a lot of people who are trying to get out of housing. Few people want to be there.
It’s not fun to be right next to people having a domestic. No one wants to put up with that.
There’s a lot of educated people in Housing who are trying to make their way in life. They don’t need people putting them down.
There’s probably as many assholes in housing as there are people outside of housing, ratio-wise. Maybe there’s less assholes. Most “uneducated” people generally aren’t going to snub their noses at others due to their living in crappy places.
With that being said, some Housing is actually pretty good.
This whole “people in Housing Commission are shit” attitude that permeates so many people, especially a bunch in the “upper class” is a terribly shit attitude to have.
Look at yourself. You’re the crappy, lowlife human being that you’re targeting. It’s not them. It’s you. Show a bit of respect and pull your head out of your ass. You have a degree. It doesn’t make you better than anyone else. It just means you studied something and probably work in the field related to that study. It does not make you better than anyone else.
A big thing that worries me about academia is that I will be surrounded by a bunch of people who have no real attachment to reality. There have been too many people who are my superiors who have this weird, lofty attitude and do not seem to want to put themselves in a position where they can be reached.
I think that people forget that no one is better or worse than anyone else.

Maybe this was a little too repetitive, but I think I got my point across.
After that comment I mentioned something about it and the person reversed on their statement by saying something that kind of explained why she made the comment, but it would have been much more respectable if the person just took the responsibility for making their shitty remark.

Cunninghams Skink as seen on the Spit to Manly.
I had not seen one of these lizards before and was a bit curious.
I like that this photo does not show the whole lizard. I think it may be due to most of the photos of the skink that I took did not seem to turn out too well.
I think the skink has a strong form and, whilst having muted colours, stands out strong against the rock.

So today, after a fair bit of procrastination, I finally hopped back onto my bike and took off to the direction in which my work lies, for I have not cycled in a fair while and I really wanted to be cycling once more.
Part of the reason as to why I had not been cycling was due to my sprained wrist working toward not being so sprained anymore. It held up pretty well, as far as I’m concerned, but I could feel some strain and pain in it as I was dashing along the road, sticking with the traffic as much as I could.
It was a sweaty embrace of wind and pedaling and it was something that I thoroughly enjoyed.
You could say that my enjoyment of the cycle was thorough.
In fact, that would be the most accurate thing to say… possibly.
I took a different route. Normally I would cycle over ANZAC Bridge and then head along Harris street as it is a fairly direct way for me to get to work.
I avoided ANZAC Bridge and instead cycled through Jubilee Park, then behind Darling Harbor, then onto Harris street.
The scenery wasn’t exactly what I would describe as fantastic, but it was still nice.
It wasn’t too hot this morning which probably went a long way to making sure that the cycle wasn’t as horrible as it could have been. Possibly.
I do know that it was easier than I suspected. There wasn’t too much traffic with which to contend and the roads were feeling petty smooth.
Of course, other than the sprained wrist, I do know that part of the reason why I was not cycling also had to do with my brakes, and the last reason is due to my being really lazy.
It was not good to be as lazy as I have been.
I don’t have much of an excuse.
In fact, it would be fair to sayt hat I had no excuse whatsoever.
Well, I’m back on the bike and am going to do my best to make sure that I am regularly cycling once more.
There’s something really fun about cycling that is hard to replicate with other forms of transport. That is not to take anything away from other transport options. It’s just something that I felt the need to say.
Probably the biggest benefit cycling has for me is that it takes less time for me to commute anywhere than it does to rely on public transport. Of course, it also costs less money over time to cycle most places than it does to rely on public transport, which is another benefit that I am going to (hopefully) be thoroughly enjoying over the next year.
There is also the feeling of fluidity when cycling along that I think I may have missed. There’s a real ebb and flow when on a bike and sometimes you feel really graceful when you’re moving along.
I think I missed cycling.

Behold, The Star!
What was once known as Star City until a name change for some reason.
I think it is a rather hideous and menacing building. Maybe it’s due to The Star being a casino.
Anyway, I think the softness of the sky works well as a contrast to the low light around the buildings, although I think I may have made the photo a little too dark.
I think that in conjunction with The Star being taller than the buildings around it, the light levels help to highlight how menacing The Star can be. With that being said, it is a building that at times can look nice.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
I’ve been trying to think of how to write this review, but there’s a scene in Star Wars: The Last Jedi that manages to sum up a fair bit of what I thought about and noticed in the film.
Rey is playing around with a lightsaber on an island and in the background you can see beautiful clouds. Almost every shot of this scene shows different cloud patterns, despite it all presumably happening over a short period of time.
So Björk has now had what one may describe as a long and illustrious career despite her music not being the most accessible, which is a good thing. She’s avoided convention a fair bit, whether intentional or not, so it comes as no surprise that Utopia is not a conventional album.
Stripped away is most percussive sounds whilst the rhythm is driven by the main body of the music. There’s a lot of melodic use of flute, occasional flourishes of electronic sounds and altogether much of the sound is fairly complete and full enough whilst allowing a lot of space to breathe. The sounds make for a more relaxed and peaceful experience than on some of Björk’s more recent albums.
Of course, despite the quality of the music the real star is Björk’s vocal performance and her use of words. She still has a strong voice and is using it a bit more softly this time around. There’s still a lot of passion, but Björk sounds a little more relaxed and free than usual and it really benefits the songs.
Utopia is a little more experimental in places than usual but overall it is quite a cohesive, enjoyable record. However, whether you like Utopia or not will mostly depend on how much you enjoy Björk.
Possibly.
It might be a different area, but it also may not.
You can see Temple Island in the distance.
I think that the softer colours help to give an idea of how far up in the air the camera was and I think the different greens help to show vegetation density.
I like the way the stream cuts through the landscape and the way the clouds cast their shadows.

I guess this could have been displayed in a better way, but that’s something for me to work on.
I guess you could say that the buildings are “Variations on a Theme“, if the theme is suburbia, which I guess it is for this photo.
I like the photo. I think that there’s some nice angles and line work with some of the buildings and I do like that ANZAC Bridge is fairly visible in the distance.
