Five-Hundred Word Challenge 283: Drilling on the Outside

There is drilling somewhere on the outside into the room of which I am currently situated.

It is almost as though they are trying to bore into my skull, for I can almost feel the sensation of drilling, so loud as it is and so frequent it occurs.

What are they drilling for?

Is it for gold?
Is it for knowledge?

Is it in order to ascertain some sort of meaning from the building that they have been looking for for a millennia, yet are still unable to find for all the bricks can tell is how the building was constructed?

Are they merely helping with construction and reconstruction and the timing was bad as there is currently a class on in here which the people doing the drilling were not aware of that would be happening today, therefore leading to this class having to put up with the non-rhythmic drilling whilst the people on the outside keep on working away on what it is that they need to do?

I do not have the answers, although sometimes I wish I did.

All I know right now is that the person who is running this tutorial is explaining to us how we need to do something and I am writing whilst also having the feeling of people drilling into my skull, or perhaps my being when they are drilling as it is loud and able to be felt as not only is the drilling occurring outside, but it is also closer than I thought it would be, although with that being said I did not have an idea of how close the drilling would be as I am merely inside whilst the people doing the drilling are merely outside.

All I can do is continue to persist and try to keep focus to that which is inside this room, perhaps continue to type away at whatever it is that I need to type and engage myself in the knowledge that is being given to us.

I need to try and keep my mind primed and ready to go so that all that is said is retained. If not all, then at least as much as possible.

How much is possible?
How much is enough?

At this current time, I do not know.

I am not sure for there is still more to learn than I probably think.

I also do not know as to how useful this information will be in the future.

All I can do is keep on growing my tree. If the branch grows short, then surely there will be parts that grow off of it and extend further, for even if it is not as useful as it may currently seem, it can still serve as an important foundation for knowledge that will build off of it, therefore leading to it being important to my knowing in a way that I may not have initially expected.

Thankfully the drilling has now stopped.

But for how long?

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:01:92

Pretty happy with the speed.

I think that I was going for something that was a slightly prose-laden telling of something that was happening and then this became something else.

Pretty happy with the result.

Pylons of the Motorway

Whilst walking around Brisbane I decided to take a photo of these pylons as I thought that they looked quite interesting.

I’m not sure as to why, but I think that it looks interesting.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 282: A Fine Coffee

There was a coffee waiting there for the main protagonist i0n question.

Toward their lips they brought it to their face.

They could smell the heat and the aroma of the well-blended brew.
They knew that it was going to taste as good as, or even better than any coffee that had previously had.

Its rich, brown colour indicated finely mixed wi0th the right ammounts of coffee and water.

Would the taste be more on the coffee side of things?

Would it be a flavour tyhat our protaginist did not revcognise?

Would it be something that they did recognise, yet was so well-made that it would easily smash the competition into the fine bits so badly that this person would never be able top have coffee the same way again?

There were so many questions on the mind of our protagonist. So many thoughts about excitement and fear and the uncertainty, almost as though they were opening a door to a new world that they knew not and may struggle to navigate.

Still, at this point there was no turning back. Thankfully they knew that whatever may come, there was going to be something new in some way that they were going to now know.

They knew that as they brought the brew closer to their opening mouthy, ready to accept the delicious liquid contents of the coffee in their cup that it would become something unlike they had ever experienced and they knew that it would lead to something great, regardless of the trials and tribulations that may be brought upon them.

Drawing ever closer to their lips, the cup began to tilt just enough to ensure that it was ready to pour the caffeine beverage into their awaiting mouth, yet no so much as to spill and waste the contents, for that would be a horrible mistake of most grievous proportions and not one that they would easily be able to recover from, for they knew not if this coffee would ever be able to be made again and they knew not how to make it themselves, for it was borne from the hands of another artisan trained in the ways of making a coffee that they themselves knew not and may never know, for there are only so many seconds in the day and not enough time to know all there is about the expansive art of making a coffee.

At last, the cup had finally reached the mouth of our protagonist.

It was in prime pouring position.

Slowly, yet surely the fine liquid contents poured into the mouth of our protagonist, filling it with flavours mysterious yet familiar, letting them experience sensations most fantastic.

There was little abating, for the full flavour needed to be experienced as much as possible on as large a scale as possible.

Then, after that moment, the eyes of our protagonist widened as they came to a realisation.

Removing the cup from their mouth, they uttered a word in exclamation:

“TEA?!”

I had the idea to write something silly when near work and then I went through with said idea.

It’s okay.

Glass Shape Among Building Geometry

Here’s a shot taken at the University of New South Wales toward the end of a day of rigorous study.

I’m not sure as to why the glass was put into this shape.

Perhaps because it looks fancy.

I think that the glass contrasts well with the slightly more rigid structures if the buildings that it is between.

I also think that the colours of the sun create a nice warmth in this photo.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 281: Words Upon Words Upon Words

Bars are on the windows and the windows are in the frames.

I am looking at keys with characters on them, yet they do not act or speak for they choose to remain silent and still as it is much safer for them than if they decide to becoming animated and lively.

In the desk are patterns of wood as it had aged as a tree, perhaps to make the desk look more appealing or authentic. I am not sure, for this desk is not one that I have created, for I know not the process that goes into making a desk, nor do I have the skills required.

Well, I lack the skills at this point in time. Perhaps my future self will have the skills.

Screens producing data that is easy to visualise are what my eyes currently see as I await for something to complete a task before I can move onto another one in the long list of tasks that need tackling for today.

Words upon words upon words spill out and all over the screens as I try to keep up, yet I find myself falling behind with every line that passes mi vision, for as much as I try to keep up with the visual display, it is able to put out more information than I can conceivably read given the time that I am provided, leading to my being engulfed by language that is far more efficient at displaying itself than I am at consuming its meaning.

I am merely a human in an office at a day of work and I am here to serve as much as I can to best of my ability.

I am a mass of many things copmbined together to form a single organism that works as autonomously as required and there is not much else that is currently required.

There is a day outside that I am currently unable to visit and unable to embrace.

The light looks clear and the wind light, the sky soft rather than hard with the storms that sometimes we must experience.

It is calling out through the bars on the windows in the frames, trying to tempt me away from my duties.

Perhaps one day it will, but for now I must remain here and continue my reign of diligence upon the customers, for there are many and I am merely one man, as opposed to many people.

Perhaps the sun will kiss my face once I step outside at the end of the day, greeting me just before it decides to sink below the horizon, reminding me that it will once more return in the morning to try and greet me once more.

I do not know if I will be ready, but I will be there, waiting for it to rise over the buildings, over the city, over the waters, over my small part of the world to illuminate all that I consider to be my immediate surroundings.

I’m not sure as to what was happening with this bit of text.

I think that maybe I was trying to be a little poetic.

Gull Squawking

Well, here’s another photo of a gull.

This one kind of looks a little unnerving, I think.

I think it’s partly because it may be a weird moment to capture a seagull and the angle isn’t that great.

Still, I like the photo. It almost makes the gull look huge.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 280: Some Straightforward Stuff, then I Throw a Bunch of Words Together

The silent, soothing sounds of construction are emanating from somewhere to the right of me, for there seems to be some sort of construction occurring outside, although I cannot see it.

The sun is shining through the window, illuminating my spot better than the lights above me, making it a little easier to see the computer screen in front of me, which is something that I consider to be good as my eyes now do’t have to work as hard as they would otherwise.

The lights just went off and now the shadows around me extend.

Now they are back on and the shadows around me retreat to hide away, for the light is not what they want to be among, much preferring to remain hidden away or turning away from a source of light in order to extend as far as they need.

Places I’d prefer to be: somewhere along a highway, cycling along at a fairly fast pace, getting somewhere to take photos near the ocean.

Somewhere in the bush.

Somewhere overseas.

somewhere that did not involve studying right now.

I would very much like to be a passenger, but that involves climbing aboard with someone that I do not know as they are now leaving.

However, if I did climb aboard, I would eventually be able to step outside and see another world, but only if I really wanted to be a passenger.

Would I be able to see those that I cherish once more if I did something such as this?

Travelling through space can take a longer time than some of us suspect.

Such is the way of travel.

It is as fast as it is slow and there is little that we can do about that at this current moment.

Perhaps in the future we may be able to, but for now we must work with the confines that we have set around us.

Now I have no idea as to what I am going on about.

I do know that there are sounds outside and I’d rather not be at university right now.

I also know that there are assignments that need doing and I really should be working on them right now, but that is not happening as I am currently writing this to help me warm up so that I will do better when I take to the assignments that need to be taken to in order to ensure that they are successfully completed.

I also know that I am trying to write in order to not be lazy and keep on writing down things that will hopefully help me improve on my ability to write so that it will become something akin to consistently tolerable.

Words are words and words need to be used more often with clear communication.

Orange juice fiddle plays the moon on the long stretch of the tired eyes wincing themselves off the fence of unadulterated, illuminated destiny with the face of an undulating cloud bear.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:10:42

Well, this was an alright piece of text.

Loftus Train Museum

When I was walking from Bundeena to Loftus with Si, we stopped at the train museum.

After precariously balancing my camera, I managed to get this shot.

You get a good idea of some of the “Corner“s of the building, as well as its face at night.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.

I hope you enjoy.

One Side of Tarros Ladder

Not the best shot I’ve taken.

This was taken shortly after Ewe and I climbed down Tarros Ladder (the bit you climb is to the left of the shot).

I think that this photo gives a good idea of how big the rock is, as well as its texture.

This is my submission for Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness this week.

I strongly recommend checking out Monochrome Madness and, if you partake in photography or have an interest in taking it up, then I also recommend submitting something. It’s a small, yet strong community-driven event that I honestly believe is worth the time.

I hope you enjoy.

Transmission Tower

Here’s a transmission tower that Ewe and I walked under whilst we were in the Blue Mountains.

I think that the geometric pattern of the structure is fairly interesting.

There’s a good use of angles in the structure.

I also like that the pattern is not even due to the angle of the shot.

I also like that there’s very little colour and light.

I hope you enjoy.
