Pink Fuchsias

Here are some photos of fuchsias that happen to be pink.
I’m not certain that they are fuchsias. I’ve asked some people and they’ve asked people and the general consensus is that they are likely to be fuchsias.

What kind? I don’t know.

The first photo was taken about two-and-a-half weeks ago. I think I then put it aside until a few days ago, when I started trying to find out what flower it was.

I then took a few more photos a couple of days ago on my way home to try and get a better shot of them and saw that they had opened.

I went back yesterday and took more photos, then asked the person who lived there what flowers they were.

She didn’t know.

I like flowers. I think they’re pretty.
Whether they’re ornate or simple, they always seem to look nice.

I think it’s pretty cool that there are so many flowers that grow from the “Earth“, depending on the quality of soil in an area, as well as the nutrients available.

This is my submission for The Daily Post‘s photo challenge this week.

There’s a little spider in the first photo. I only noticed it a few minutes ago.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 112: A Report Must be Finished

Alright, here we go!

Where are we going? To the place that we will eventually end up going to via the action of motion towards that location, with perhaps maybe a few little detours that may lead to some sort of saucy adventure (or not, as no adventures feature great amounts of sauce [I cannot actually confirm as to whether this is the case or not, as I don’t normally go on saucy adventures as all it does is create a really big mess and then you’re left with a bucket and no mop and you only have yourself to blame for the situation you got yourself into], but sometimes they do feature some sort of vehicle action, such as turning a few degrees more than usual), or it may not, depending on what your poison is.

Now that the introduction of whatever this will turn into is out of the way, I’m going to talk about something.

Yes; something is what I’ll be talking about, for even the specific vagueness of that sentence is something that is something to talk about… something.

Anyway…

Today is a day where I have to really work hard as I have an assignment that is overdue that I need to hand in tomorrow, which will mean I’m going to have to leave home around 7 in the morning tomorrow to get it in before I go to work. I cannot begin to described just how excited I am about this. It’s off the charts.

The sad thing about it is I can only blame myself for handing it in late. There’s no one else I can point the finger to, so it is something I have to own.

To be honest, for some reason I’m not feeling too fussed about the fact that it is my own fault because I’ve accepted responsibility for my lack of action, I guess.

What is probably a bigger problem is the fact that I cannot actually make it something like anything here, because it needs to be dry and factual; something I do not have a problem with, but don’t really want to do right now. I’d rather write something that has little sense or coherence to it, as I find that something far more interesting to me at the moment.

At the same time, I don’t.

Now I’m just talking for the sake of talking, but sometimes that can be fun.

And by talking, I mean writing.

Anyway… I do sincerely hope I have it finished today as once it’s out of the way, I can focus on many other things that are happening and then get them out of the way as well.

Perhaps I’ll stop being lazy about stuff and actually get everything I want to get done done.

And then I’ll be a happy chappy, or at least look for other things to do and complete so that I stay a bit busier than usual.

But for now, a report must be finished today.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:45:75
Pretty happy with that time.

Well… not much else to say about it really.

Oh. it could have been better.

Stuff happens.

Lava Flow

More bad poetry!

I managed to make this up just now, so that makes me happy.
Also happy about it’s inadequacy when it comes to any real substance.

Oh well.

—–

The volcano begins to erupt
And the hot lava begins to flow
Somewhere from the top
Down to regions below
Perhaps from the sides
Yet always heading down
No breeze can stop it or the heat
From burning what is around
Eventually a cold lake may be reached
And relief may be discovered
Instead of a continuous run
That would have us beg for mercy

Approaching Anzac Bridge

Here’s a few photos I took on Tuesday in the evening.

I headed out to the start of Anzac Bridge to take photos for the “City” theme of Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness (also being my fifty-fourth submission into something that I recommend checking out and also participating in if it tickles your fancy).

It was also to work on getting better at taking long exposure shots.

Well, I guess it goes without saying that I like these shots.

If that is the case, why am I saying it?

Anyway, I like how the lights bend and curve and contrast with the night.

I like how half of these look really busy and the other two don’t.

I like that they’re slightly closer to being suggestive than descriptive.

You get the idea.

I started off taking pictures with Anzac Bridge in the shot, but I ended up feeling that most of the results could have been better, so I ended up taking shots of the traffic before the bridge.

Towards the end, I decided that, despite my small amount of experience with taking long exposures, I’d start trying to experiment by using shorter exposure times.

At this point, I think that stating (or suggesting) that the traffic is heading to the city rather than showing it outright makes for a better image in this case.

The last photo is the one I submitted into MM.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 111: I did Well on a Test

And once again, we find ourselves in the month that is known as May, due to the fact that it is full of things that may or may not happen.

There’s probably a good reason as to why May is known as May, but I cannot be bothered looking it up right now, for there are other things at hand that must be discussed!

Such as… I don’t know.

I remember writing about how I did a lot better in a test once.
I had a mid-semester test last week that I was late to (it was for the same subject as I’ve failed it twice and now am doing it again so I can pass it so it forever remains in my history until I need to use the teachings it has provided to me again). I was about fifteen minutes late.

I felt unprepared and sped through it as quickly as I possibly could.

I had one question unanswered by the end of it. I attempted it twice but ended up crossing out what I wrote.

Well, I got the results back today and did a fair bit better than I expected I would.
Roughly a credit, so I’m quite happy with that.

In other news, EVERYONE MAKES ME ANGRY!
Aside from that not being the case, it is entirely true and I shall state it as such.

Anyway, I am quite happy with the fact that I did better than I expected I would, although I should take it as a sign that I should be studying a lot more than I am right now, as I imagine that if I could get the mark I did with as little study as I did, I should be able to do much better if I do more study.

Well, with that being said… I don’t know.

The big problem I have with studying is that it is a long, slow grind and that I… no. Actually, there is no real problem. I’m just being lazy, as is the way of things.

Hmmm… I was hoping to write something far more interesting than I am writing right now, but it looks like my mind and fingers are not feeling up to the task, therefore putting me into a position of trying to come up with whatever thought comes across my mind whilst getting ready for bed as soon it will be time for me to sleep and rest so I can tackle another day with the full strength of the body and mind combined into one continuous being that is doing and going and… something.

Well, I guess the message that I should take home from this is to stop being as lazy as I am and start studying more so I can make sure I do better than I have in the past, otherwise otherworldly lemons will come and chew on my head for all eternity whilst singing about granola oil and the benefits of punching apathetic walls.

The time it took to write five-hundred words:  07:43:95
Supposedly my fingers decided they wanted to glide this evening.

Either that or I was writing about something and, due to not really liking it, decided to try and derail what I was writing which somehow came much easier to me than anything else at that given moment.

Hiroshima Bay

Here’s some photos of 広島湾 that I took.
I kind of forgot about these.
Today I’m putting them here as I have an “Admiration” for water.

I’ve mentioned as to why I like the ocean and that extends to water in general (for me).

It is an amazing thing in many ways.

It can form many patterns as well as be calm, powerful, weak, and strong.

This is my submission into this week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post.

I hope you enjoy.

A Poem That Could be Better Than it is

Here’s something that I quickly knocked out a few minutes ago.

Probably not that good, but it might be interesting, imagery-wise.

—–

If all I were to do is stay and chat
And claim that someone must wear the hat
Would days pass through smaller hours
Whilst an unkempt idea only cowers?
There is a bed that must be made
In which we lie whilst dues are paid
As clouds turn to years turn to dust turn to time
And watching slowly the rise of our brine
In a subtle nod to all that has been done
We turn our backs and move to what will come
Perhaps to watch it all rewind
When the choices made become unkind

Traffic

Here’s a few shots I took on a pedestrian bridge over Victoria Road that I took last week.
I had my camera with me (obviously) and decided to try and get a few shots whilst there.
I did not have my tripod or remote with me, so I’m glad these turned out as well as they did.

I used the rail of the bridge to support the camera and made sure to be very careful whilst holding the button down (I was in bulb mode).

The bridge does shake a bit, but even so, I still managed to get very lucky with these.

I like how these are (mostly) a mix of motion and stillness.

Well, I like a lot of things about them, now that I think about it.

This is my fifty-third submission into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness.
I strongly recommend going to check her stuff out, as well as MM.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Wind Turbine

Here is a photo of the Wind Turbine in Jubliee Park in Glebe.

I’ve walked past this a number of times but I’ve never taken a photo of it like this one before… I think. I can’t be too sure right now.

I really like the colours of this photo and how they are strong but not trying to overwhelm each other.

I like the structure of the turbine and how its blades are curved.

It’s another image that feels calm and relaxing to me.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 110: A few Things That Aren’t Necessarily Connected (I Think)

I’m glad that WordPress is working for me again, as yesterday I wanted to post and I couldn’t, yet now I can, so I’m much happier, although now I feel slightly behind as there are things I want to write about and between my burgeoning laziness and it being down yesterday has put me roughly ten years behind.

Yes. It’s that bad and I am not being overly dramatic for no perceivable reason whatsoever, but that’s the way I role and… something about cats. I don’t know. I’ll try and come up with a better reason maybe.

Today is a Thursday, as is the day that is Thursday that today is.

I’m sitting here, once more, banging away on a keyboard that needs a severe break from my punching fingers.

It’s a bit colder than I thought it would be, but at least the air conditioning hasn’t been turned down to some pointlessly low temperature in the library.

Yes, more complaining for no reason whatsoever.

Last night I walked home from the city. I got sweaty but I think it was totally worth it.
Why do I think that?

It is because I felt the need for a long, hard walk.

Although, whilst it was meant to take roughly fifty-something minutes, I managed to do it somewhere between thirty-five and forty minutes.

I came home feeling a little bit tired but otherwise satisfied for hanging done it.

Although, now that I think about it, whilst it did pay off, I actually did it because I wanted to and for for no other reason at the time.

It is only in hindsight that I realise I needed it. Helped clear my head-space a bit.

On Tuesday night, Ewe and I went to a location so I could take some photos.

Yes, a location, as opposed to a not-location, as is the way of things that are done around these here parts.

He was attracting a lot of mosquitoes, so he left early. Then they all came after me.
I took a few more photos before I left.

Now, I told someone about this and they told me that they were proud of my dedication to my art.
However, I wasn’t being dedicated. I was practising long exposures of varying lengths so I can get better (as is the usual reason for practising something).

I was not enjoying the mosquito love, but I had to wait as I didn’t want to blur the picture by beginning to pack up whilst it was taking.

That’s not that interesting, but I felt the need to write about it, because I need to write about something right now but don’t have a desire to throw sentences together and see what does and doesn’t work.

Well, perhaps I should begin studying right now before I head off to a class to do more stuff.

Perhaps I really should actually do that, but only after a few more things.

Sadly, nothing involving the ultimate guitar shredding display.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 8:56:08
Faster than the last two (I think). Probably has something to do with my hands not being cold. Probably.
