Ibis Walking
I was in Centennial Park yesterday afternoon which gave me the opportunity to get this photo. There’s nothing particularly good about it; it’s competent, but I like ibes and so I wanted to share this photo. I hope you enjoy.
Thalasseus bergii
Also known as greater crested tern and (from what a friend told me) silver tern. This was a lucky shot in that I was able to get quite close to the tern without it flying off. I wonder if maybe … Continue reading

Starling Leaving a Bollard
Another photo of this bird. Sort of creates a set, sharing this does. It’s also a really lucky shot as I’ve been trying to capture the moment a bird takes off and this is really, really close, I think. I … Continue reading
Common Starling
Also known as Sturnus vulgaris, European starling and starling. I cannot recall a time before two days ago that involved seeing this bird. It could be the first time I’ve seen one and, seeing as it’s an introduced species, I … Continue reading

Underside Revealed
Same duck as the one I shared yesterday. I think monochrome worked really well with this duck. Probably just the right conditions for it to do so, which I guess means that was the definite. Anyway, I really like this … Continue reading

Cairina moschata
I just found out that this bird is a muscovy duck. I saw it at the start of the month near Botany. Probably could’ve done better with the light as this isn’t exactly a good photo, but at least it … Continue reading
A Bit of Plant
This is the same dusky moorhen (Gallinula tenebrosa) as seen here. It spent a bit of time trying to take this bit of plant that, whilst appearing dead, remained firmly attached. Eventually it left with a twig. This is my … Continue reading

Swan Bathing
When I took this photo it was the first time I’d seen a swan bathe in this manner. It almost looks like it’s coming to surface rather than floating there. Almost. I had to crop a lot of this photo … Continue reading
