Seeing a royal spoonbill, or any spoonbill in an urban environment is quite “Unlikely“.

Whilst there are some that live in the Centennial Parklands, they’re still an uncommon sight.

Spoonbills feed by having their beak open and moving it from side to side in water. As soon as something is within their open beak, they quickly close it, capturing the prey.

I think that spoonbills are interesting birds. There’s something about them that I can’t put my finger on, but it’s something that makes them appealing and somewhat-fascinating.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.
