Also known as the pacific black duck.
This is a pretty straightforward shot. Not much to say, though I do like how the duck affects the water.
I hope you enjoy.

I feel like I was thinking about the song too much and trying to make sense of it even though it makes sense. That said, I do like how some of this turned out.
King Crimson’s “The Power to Believe, Pt. 2” is from The Power to Believe.

Atop a low rumble percussive sounds plink along. The rumble disappears and something descends and draws out for a moment. Soon guitar hovers and moves about. The plinking returns with more percussive sounds and the hovering buzzes about, occasionally pausing.
Bass comes in with a muted crash and moves about in a way that is as erratic as it is controlled. Rhythm emerges as guitar continues its buzzing motion.
The palette clears and gentler percussive sounds make space. They find a gentleness, even as they build a sense of energy. Melody comes through the tone and all seems to relax. A disembodied voice speaks out as a sweeping ambience comes in which soon is followed by more percussion. Ambience matches the vocals whilst bass occasionally moves into the space and all is calm and clear. Almost a sense of realisation and comfort moves through as percussion plays its beat out with striking clarity. Bass builds on the percussion and the rhythm grooves whilst the guitar floats on as wisps of cloud.
With a smoothness they find a point and slowly fade out of view as the song ends.
Days drift on by and a series of endless events play out in a tedium that is as dull as it is insipid. I’m sitting here and it all plays on by like a roll of film that I’ve lost interest in a long time ago.
Of course that is all a load of crap, but let’s just run with it as it makes for a better plastering of melodrama.
I’m sitting here trying to maintain balance and it’s about as fun as it sounds. Not as bad as last week but it’s still bad. Still unable to do most things but getting better. Just trying to take my time bit time is ticking away and so I feel as though I’m not making good use of my time. Such is the way of things I suppose.
The need to rest is always something that I bristle at as I don’t enjoy being forced into resting. I’d much prefer to be able to go about getting things done, but sometimes you don’t have that option and I should stop being so stubborn and just accept that this is what I currently have to deal with. I don’t want to, but I should. However, I likely won’t. I’ll likely keep on going on with this and I’ll likely keep on being stubborn about the whole thing.
Not the best idea I’ve had, but sometimes you run with silly things.
It is a cold morning and perhaps that is the way that it should be. There have been colder mornings but this one is alright. It is expected as we are inching our way toward an idea of winter that likely won’t feel much like winter. Such is the way of things when we inch toward a future that contains far less stability than it should. Such is the way of things when not enough is done to change.
I sit here, cold and resting and I will eventually warm up, but I also remain stubborn and keep on doing the things that I’m doing. I will soon need to engage in the act of getting ready for work as today is one of those days, but I also need to rest, but the need to earn money is regrettably greater than the need for rest and so I likely am hampering my getting better, but such is the way of things. It could be worse; I could be in hospital. It could also be better.
The sun is shining and that is something that I appreciate as it paints a nice picture outside of my bedroom window. There’s a pleasantry and a sense of calm out there that filters into here, and I get to look outside and see birds, among other things. It’s a nice view and it helps keep me stubborn a bit, but I should rest more, but I won’t as sometimes it’s not something you should do, regardless of how much of refusing is fueled by stubbornness.

Pretty ho-hum.
I’m surprised I was able to write as fast as I did, as well as how clear.
Tried to keep repetition low but some of it is in there. Maybe it’s a bit more appropriate. I don’t know.
Written at home.
Alright, so I’m not sure what I was going to do with this one.
I kind of went “impressionistic” and didn’t really capture much of the song.
Also I may have been too vague with what I wrote.
Tim Hecker’s “Seasick III” is from The North Water.
I hope you enjoy.

Something low looms, deep and eerie.
Sounds stretch into presence and unease permeates throughout.
Low menace as deeper they go on a day clear and covered.
The sounds continue stretching and echoing off, repeating a form and seeming harmonious, but not quite getting there. They loop and change and remain utterly the same and continue on, becoming sharp, though eventually flat as they fade out, leaving something lingering onward toward the song’s end.
More swan action.
One of those lucky shots, I feel.
There’s something odd about this photo, but I feel that that may be due to the swan’s form and how it almost doesn’t appear to be in motion.
I hope you enjoy.
Not much to say about this one.
I think I was trying to capture a sense of the scenic and this kind of feels like a scene, but maybe that has more to do with the angle than anything else.
This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit.
A lot of what people are submitting will likely end up here.
I hope you enjoy.
Here’s a photo of a swan feeding.
I feel as though I stuffed up on the focus, but overall I think the photo is neat.
Will need to do better next time, however.
I hope you enjoy.
Still ill, still recovering and still have no proper sense of balance.
It seems to be getting better, but it’s difficult to tell. Some moments feel better than others, but I can write again.
Sort of.
This is still a struggle and it feels like it’s more of a struggle than it should be, but I’ve still got it good in that I can get this done. That does make me feel some sort of happiness and hope that this is all improving. Gotta hold onto that as it means that I keep on going and keep on pushing forward… well, it doesn’t, but it means that I’ve a bit more of an optimistic outlook on this whole thing. I think.
This almost has been some weird dream where everything is off, but it’s not. That’s just me being dramatic and I am aware of that and it is something I shouldn’t do, but I feel like it. I feel sorry for myself and I am bemoaning my current fate, but I’m sure that it will eventually pass. Or, at least I hope it will eventually pass. Maybe it will not and I’m going to have to deal with the disequilibrium for the rest of my life. However, that is likely doubtful. It will likely keep getting better, albeit slowly.
Things take time and all, and I need to live all of that time before anything will improve. Of course it needs to be lived; I can’t just jump into the future, though that would be a most wonderful thing to be able to do, but I can’t and so I’ve got to get through all of this first, and that takes time.
So anyway, I think I’ll keep on crapping on about how this all sucks and poor me and all that other stuff. Sure, I could talk about other things; I could do that, but why would I? There’s so much nothing I can keep going on about.
But seriously, having Covid sucks. My advice would be to do your best to avoid getting it, stay as healthy as you can and if you do get it, rest as much as possible. Most of my symptoms are gone but this still is a rough experience. I’ve gotten really lucky but even though it is improving I don’t necessarily feel like I’m getting better. There are times when I’m trying to brace myself as I feel I’m just going to fall a long distance. It’s not fun. I’m able to get around a bit more now, but I’m still dealing with the disequilibrium and it’s just rough.
Again, I’m lucky. This could be so much worse than it is. I’ve done alright. That said, there is no way you could get me to wish this upon anyone.
Anyway, that’s my ramble for the day. I’m going to go back to trying to get things done so I can get things done. Then after that, probably a bit more rest.

Slower than I’d hoped.
All I have to say about this.
Written at home.
One listen but a couple of restarts.
I think I was looking to describe the song and leave it at that and I’m not quite sure as to what happened.
This one I did as, to me, it seems like it’s related to the previous song I wrote about. To me it seemed odd to do the previous one and not do this one.

A cacophony seems to fade in before a sudden pause. Quite shortly after percussion, bass and guitar come in. There is space with the bass and guitar whilst percussion stays busy. There is an urgency that comes forward.
Eventually it seems that things will loosen a little before another pause. Guitar lets a note out and everything resumes. Vocals lay over the instruments and more rhythm comes forward. The guitar plays with more melody and all seems to be moving into less space.
Soon the sounds change and become livelier and larger. Melancholy comes forward but there is release as the sounds rise upward. With energy all keep on moving toward something. The vocals scream out with a raggedness. Before that something is reached the instruments pull back and play with urgency once more. Space is there, some is filled. Seemingly befallen, the instruments continue forward.
The vocals switch back to spoken and all continues onward. Then once more release is found. Hurtling toward something, looking for a point to reach. There is a sadness, but there is a sense of acceptance, for there is a freeing feeling. There is a beauty in the loudness, and it is calming, and it all fades out as the song ends.
This was mostly done due to my feeling well enough at the moment to be productive.
Was the result worth the effort? Probably not. Still, I sort of captured what happens in the song. Probably could’ve used more words and covered a bit more, but that isn’t what happened.

In a space guitars play a gentle melody. There is a familiarity that it holds, but it does not linger on that familiarity. Bass comes in and also plays gentle. It seems to offer a platform upon which the guitars continue on with their melody.
Soon vocals and percussion join in and they too lack harshness. Another sound lingers among the instruments and the melody moves through a fragility with ease. Eventually all shift to something with a little more melancholy. This does not last, however, and soon the instruments begin to build toward something.
The build starts with the guitars and spoken word. Soon guitar and bass come in. Volume seems to increase and a grandness emerges. A brief pause and the instruments gain greater intensity. The vocals seem hurried, specific and striking. There is a focus and control, and the mood pushes on outward and comes forward with ease and without grace.
The conclusion is reached and struck twice before the instruments stop and the song ends.
