Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1034: Sounds Outside

There are sounds outside that seem to herald the encroaching summer and in some manner they are pleasing to hear. They reach out and caress the ears and signify some sort of shift toward something. I’m not sure as to what that something is, but the shift is there and it is signified and I sit here and prattle on about it for a while and you get the idea.

I don’t get the idea as I am not part of it and therefore due to not being part of it I feel like a spectator of the external variety. This is not something I want to feel like, but alas, that is what I feel like and so feeling like that is what I feel like. However, something something and so on and so forth and therefore I will express the idea in a manner that I feel is necessary and I won’t explain any inconsistency.

Maybe the idea is the sounds that are outside that I now need to tune out due to how they’re affecting my tinnitus. Maybe it is something else entirely. It is too early to tell at the moment though, for I have not thought of this to an extensive level and so I need to think about it to a diminished level. I need to think about it in ways that I am yet to think about things and so therefore I will find a way forward in order to find a way backward.

I will shuffle to the left and maybe I will also shuffle to the right. I will look at what it is that drives me and in that I will hear sounds that herald the oncoming of summer. I will find them and I will reveal them and in that revealing they will be revealed to me. All will be revealed and there will no longer be any drape that covers and hides that which desires such a thing.

What am I going on about?

Anyway, I will find the revelation and then once all is revealed that is it. There is no going back. There is no turning around. There is nothing that can be handled, and yet all will be handled in a manner that suggest the handling of things in a manner of the utmost professionalism. This is a good thing, I think, but perhaps I need to not think and just do. I need to get on with it and see where that all goes. Maybe it goes nowhere, but even if it goes nowhere there still are things that are found out and you learn and grow and so on and so forth and you get the idea.

I think what I’m saying is that I’m tired, but those sounds outside are pleasant, but I can’t listen to them anymore as my tinnitus is not appreciating them, so therefore I think it is time to rest, so resting is what I will now do.

Not great. Had I done this earlier I think it would’ve been very different. Not necessarily better.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1033: Glide Along

And so evening is now here and I sit here and I write about it being evening. I write as quickly as I can so as to be able to be as fast as I can as I don’t want to be doing this too late into the evening. There are other things to do, such as the dishes.

I want to glide along and float into the afternoon. I want to watch the clouds drift on by on a peaceful, dull and boring day. I just want to sit out there and not think about whatever it is that I may be required to think about. I want to let myself be aimless and flow on freely. I want to be weightless and let myself float on away from all of this and then see where I am carried.

I want to be carried upon a dream and in that dream I want the traction to be as small as possible. I want to be able to glide along the air currents and I want to be taken away. As I lie in the grass and stare up into the sky I want to see colours shift and shapes reveal themselves as something that I recognise, regardless of how vague and detached that recognition may reveal itself as.

I want a cool breeze to touch my face as I lie there and when I get up I want to be able to see some sort of peace and joy and fun and excitement and something very much taking it easy. I want to be able to pull out of my daydream without necessarily being taken violently from it. I want it to fade away in the way that some things do. I want it to linger with a nice, long trail as I move away from wherever it was and wherever it was taking me.

I want to be able to go for a walk and in that going for a walk I want to find myself feeling aimless about where I need to go and how quickly I need to go there. I want to know that I can take it easy and not overwork myself.

I want to be able to carry my camera with me and take photos and let them capture the scenery and capture history in a way that carries a sense of ease about the whole thing, and I can do that. I can do that tomorrow, and maybe I will. However, for now I will write this as quickly as I can for I need to get this done and then some other things done. I can lose myself in thoughts later, but for now this is where the focus lies and in having the focus lie here I write this and I get this done and then I move toward the next thing and let that sit for a while, but perhaps I will relax, but only for a little bit.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:55:48

This came really easy. I think there may have been a bit too much of me in the writing.

One Thousand Word Challenge 160: Day Draws Out

And more things draw out and extend and find their way circling around other things. It becomes a bit of a dance. It becomes a flow of motion, and yet it seems nothing like such a thing. Such is the way of these things on the odd occasion I guess.

The day draws out and cycles of rain fall. Humidity rises and more rain falls and humidity rises some more. It continues around and around and little changes until it does change. Sometimes that changes and in fact when I say sometimes, I mean often, for the cycle is not completely set in stone and on an infinite loop and I don’t know as to why I’m going on about this so I think I’ll just stop and wrap it up and get on with writing about other things as there are other things to conquer.

There are lands to see and visions to explore and all of it comes at some sort of price and perhaps that price is the time spent on such ridiculous endeavours that lead nowhere and go everywhere. Maybe that means that there would be time spent being lost and that’s not something I quite enjoy, if I am to be honest. There are other, more prudent things that I enjoy and those involve not getting lost.

Therefore I think it is fair to say that I don’t like straying off the path when I go walking in the bush. That is something I very much prefer to avoid doing at all costs as it ends up consuming a fair bit of time. Time is not in great amounts these days and therefore it needs to be spent preciously.

Sometimes it is good to get lost I think, but not always. You don’t want to get lost in the bush as that can lead to some pretty bad situations. You want to stay on the path unless there is a reason that you need to stray and you’ve all the things in places that you need to have in place so as to make sure that you can get back in one piece.

So there are reasons to stray from the path when walking through the bush, but they are few and far between, and even then it is best to weigh up your options and assess the risk before you do so. Really though this is stuff that is applicable to many solutions and so therefore it is a good idea to have a good idea of where you are and what you are doing more often than it is not. You don’t want to put yourself in a situation that you may not be able to get out of, or have a very small chance of getting out of as it may lead to some sort of disaster.

Well, to be fair, you may want to put yourself in one of those situations, but you probably wouldn’t if it was a bad situation to be in. However, I digress… I think.

So there are things to see and places to be and I need to make sure that I choose my steps carefully. There is a path from which I do not want to stray. I want to follow it to wherever it leads and I want to make sure that I get home safe and sound when the end of the day is reached and I am ready to go to sleep. I want to journey and all of that and I kind of want to get lost, but I want to make sure that I can get back so that I don’t have to worry about getting too lost.

I don’t know as to what it is that I’m going on about here. I think I need sleep.

Perhaps what it is that I need is a reason to keep on going with this bit of writing. It has gone on for too long already and there is little sustaining its existence. Maybe there’s some sort of beauty or profoundness in that, but I still think I need to find a reason. This writing cannot be empty; it must have some sort 0f sustenance so that it bears the fruit that will then sprout into something greater. It needs to have something that allows it to continue on beyond its implied existence  If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t go anywhere, but it’s not really going anywhere in the first place so really there’s not much to go on from here on out. Therefore I should wrap this up before I become lost in the words.

That is something I don’t want to do as if I do, then I shall struggle and struggling is something that I want to avoid. I also want to avoid getting too far along the track as I want to explore slowly. I want to immerse myself in the surroundings at a slow and steady pace. I want to take it all in and have the opportunity to discover things that I didn’t think I would discover. I want that opportunity.

Of course many people do and maybe it is a failing of society that not enough people are able to do this kind of thing.

However, I don’t want to get too serious about this kind of stuff. I just want to write and I want to get expression across and in that getting expression across I can then find something new to explore, though maybe I won’t and instead explore the old and find the path forward that way. Maybe that is how all of what lies ahead will reveal itself, but of course I need to be careful about the whole thing. I don’t want to get lost. I can be uncertain, but I don’t want to get lost. I want to make sure that I can find my way back so that I can keep on some time on a different day.

The time it took to write one thousand words: 10:38:47

This was a struggle to write. I’m not sure what I was going for, but this is what came forward, so yeah. Seems to meander more than desired.

One Thousand Word Challenge 159: Rain has Settled

The rain has settled and as it has settled, I must go outside and do things that involve clearing things up before it rains again. I probably won’t though as I’m tired and all of those things and, quite frankly, today I am going to indulge in being lazy. Would rather the being lazy and the not being lazy and all of that and so on and so forth. Still, got to get something done and I guess that something will be this writing followed by the next bit of writing. Therefore there shall be a bit of writing.

Writing whilst tired is not necessarily fun, though sometimes it is. Sometimes it is fun to fight fatigue and try and push through and all of those things. Maybe it’s not so much when you’re fighting fatigue and trying to get to the end of something in a manner that allows you to do other things sooner rather than later, but at least at the moment I think I can push on through and make sure that I get to the end of this, at least. I think.

I think that perhaps what I really need to do is just relax, but I’ve covered that before and I don’t feel much like covering that again. I’d much rather just look forward and try and describe processes and hope that that description comes forward in a manner that is understandable. Perhaps I have been rambling for far too long and it’s time to start trying to get back to a place of focus so I can express in a manner that is more clear and concise. Too much rambling is not the best and neither is too much procrastination. Maybe I need to be more against the processes that I make use of in order to get things across. Maybe they are too much of a safety net and I need to rely less on that safety net and more on the danger net and in doing that I can then get to the moving forward position that will then allow me to move forward.

Maybe it is not I that needs to move forward, but rather everyone else. Maybe everyone else needs to move forward and I can just stay here and be left behind, but that being left behind must be done in a way that implies some sort of being comfortable with the whole thing and then when that has happened I might actually just go home. I mean, I already am at home, but this is of the metaphorical, or allegorical, or imaginary going home.

Well, both the metaphor and allegory could be imaginative or other, but you get the idea. I  hope.

So then I would do the thing and I’d go home and rest. Once I’ve rested I would then look at other things that I could try to do. Maybe some of them would involve actually doing things instead of just talking about doing things; something of which I happen to do with a great deal of regularity. Perhaps I should stop doing so, but old habits die a long and slow death, or something.

Anyway, I think that really covers the crux of the rambling for today. Of course there is more rambling to come, but I’m not sure as to how much I feel like getting into it as I’m doing this and I’m feeling pretty relaxed. Feeling relaxed is awesome. Perhaps I feel too relaxed, however, and should stop doing this to myself and get back on the proverbial horse and gallop off to wherever it is that I need to gallop off to, for there are people that need saving and I am the only one powerful enough to use my power in a responsible manner which would then lead to saving them. But of course it wouldn’t necessarily be about being powerful, but you also need to be responsible and just, and willing to make sacrifices as well as decisions that may be compromising to your existence and being, and of course I could do all of those things in some sort of of fantasy land where it’s a power fantasy and I get to go across the country roaring at trees and cutting down rocks with my hands.

Plenty of other things to consider in that kind of thing but maybe I wouldn’t need to eat and sleep either. I’d just be going on and there would be no stopping me so therefore I’d be the ruler of the story, but not necessarily the kingdom.

There’d be a lot of journeying but I’d also want to spend a lot of time near water. I’d want to be near water and listening to how it flows and writing poetry about the tragedy of battle and all that and therefore I’d embody the stereotype more and more until the stereotype ended up embodying me and really, that’s what I want out of all of this. Sure, there are things to which I could aspire to, but I don’t want to aspire to those as I’d already be set, or something.

Maybe I’d look at spending a considerable amount of time swimming and in that swimming there would be the understanding of the aquatic nature of the waters that flow from the mountains and reach the oceans that are as vast as they are expansive. Of course that would be the dream, but people would need my help. However, I would have to occasionally ask them to be patient as I ramble on into the sunset and my words would reach out and touch the souls as they stretched across hours like a relentless deluge on an otherwise still, soundless night.

But of course in saying all of that I think I’d just rather stay here and at home and relax for a while. Rather not be in some sort of power fantasy as, to be honest, it doesn’t seem that great.

The time it took to write one thousand words: 11:40:03

Not a good bit of writing. It was a struggle to write and I think it may be due to how tired I am at the moment.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1032: Little bit of Time

So I’m sitting at some café as I need to kill a little bit of time before I go somewhere else. It has been a busy morning and sometimes a busy morning is a good morning. Sometimes it is a bad morning, but it has been a good one this morning. And some of the afternoon too.

There was someone who almost reversed right into the front of my car, but other than that, it has been a good period of time where things have happened.

There has been a great dispelling and even though I have not had what I feel is enough sleep, I have been feeling… well, good I guess. It has been a good time where things have been happening and I feel energised. I’m going to feel really tired by the end of the day, but for now I’m powering on and things just feel good.

Well, there still is stress. There is a lot of stress, but now I can be focused and I can handle the pressure. I can handle what is going on and in that being able to handle what is going on I can keep on going on and get the things that I need to get done out of the way as they happen. That is what I want to happen too, so what I want to happen is happening.

Maybe I should stop talking in such a vague manner.

We had a situation with a housemate that was rather inducing of stress and it is now over. We’re relieved that it’s over, but we also didn’t feel good about having to force said housemate to move out due to various reasons that I won’t go into. However, now that that is over we’re also hunting for a new place.

The other housemate who is still with us is moving out with their partner and there is no ill will there. The two of us that remain are trying to work out if we rent out the other room(s) and start a new lease, or if we find our own place, hence the going to check out places. The pressures have shifted, but these ones are much more manageable due to being able to focus on doing what we need to do.

So yeah.

I don’t know why I felt the need to write that. Maybe it’s due to the issues being something we’ve had to deal with for a while now. Maybe it’s due to other reasons.

Maybe I just want to ramble on about things in a way that seems more focused than what you’d normally get here.

Whatever the reason, it has now been said and in saying that it is time to move toward the other things. I do not enjoy the hunting for a place to live, but I do enjoy being at a café. I forgot to bring a book, however, and so the experience is completely ruined until the end of time.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:45:95

This came really easy and I’m happy about that. Whilst it doesn’t flow as well as I’d like, it’s focused.

Fractured

Here’s another photo of rock and this time with rock breaking up a bit. Fractured.

I’m not sure as to how much of this fracturing has to do with erosion processes, but there is some visible weathering that gives more of a sense of age.

I hope you enjoy.

One Thousand Word Challenge 158: Get the Day Back

Alright, so I’m now here and once more it is evening and it would be apparent that I’ve let the day get away from me. This is not something that I had hoped for or even planned. However, it did happen and so now I am here and in being here I need to try and get the day back.

The day is tricky and it is fast and in its being tricky and fast it is also cunning. It knows its way around things in order to deceive and make the journey to finding it and catching up with it take longer than initially desired, though I doubt there was any desire at all to spend a day looking for and trying to watch up with a day, as I would be the one desiring it if it were the case and I am not desiring it, so therefore there is no desire felt by me to chase after a thing I don’t want to chase after.

I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to go hunting for a thing that is so far ahead that it is far beyond comprehension. That is not something that I have any interest in pursuing as it takes time and the time that it takes is not something that I want to spend. I want to spend my time writing and drawing and being lazy. I don’t want to spend it doing things that are required out of obligation or at least some sense of obligation.

Anyway, I feel now that I have to do this thing that I’ve said that I don’t want to do. There is cause and the cause is to be able to get some time back into a day; well, get some time back. It doesn’t need to be squeezed into a day, though it could be.

So anyway, now I’ve got to do this thing and so I guess I will do it. There is little else to do and so it might just be better for me to do this now and get it out of the way and then stop thinking about things and all that other stuff. However, there will be the thinking about things. There might be the thinking about preparation as there is a lot of preparation that needs to be done before the announcement to fail to get any preparation can be done. There also needs to be preparation done in order to be able to find a day and tackle it down and bring it back in order to make proper use of it instead of letting it get away and all of that kind of stuff.

I don’t want to do this, and yet I must. There is obligation and there is destiny and I need to fulfill that. I need to fulfill that which is ahead of me in order to make the most of what it is that I am trying to make the most out of. I don’t quite think that I can but maybe I can. Maybe I cannot, but maybe I can.

Maybe this is a bit of an errand of the foolish variety and really what I should be doing is forgetting about all of this and just easing off into the evening. It is late and soon there will be sleep and sleep will be needed, but first this should happen. I need to remain vigilant and stubborn. I need to get the day back and I need to do it in the most dramatic way possible.

I need to prepare and I need to get ready and then I need to actually do the thing, but I am getting tired and now I need to fight the being tired as that needs to also be fought off. As such I could say that I’ve a few enemies along the road to getting the day back. I need to wrestle with things and I need to fight the being tired.

Maybe I shouldn’t. Maybe I should rest and take it easy and in that taking easy I can head on out tomorrow as I’ll be recharged. I’ll feel ready to go and then I will go and I’ll tackle that which I need to and I’ll do it in style. There might even be some finesse. Of course there will be a lot of clumsiness, but that will help to create a sense of sway and drama in the whole thing, as I imagine that, despite all belief I may have, the whole affair will be as boring as it will be fruitless.

Oh sure, there could be experiences had on the way, but thinking about those means thinking about things I don’t want to think about as that takes away focus on the target. Maybe it’s a foolish pursuit, but still, I know as to what it is that I will try and do and in knowing that I know a little more of myself.

That said, do I really? Is there more to know? There is, but do I really know it? Probably not, no. Therefore I should think of other things right now and instead of thinking about this I might think of those other things as I am desperately looking for a way out and I feel that that is going to be my exit point. Maybe it won’t, bit I have to believe and I have to pretend. If I can do that then I can get away from all of this silliness and then move to whatever else it is that I need to move toward. Still, the day must be hunted down so I can get it back, but I’ll have to stack that onto the tail end of another day and that’s not something that I want to do, but I might just have to, though I could also just not go on this hunt and do other, more productive things.

The time it took to write one thousand words: 10:34:27

Once more this was written mostly to force me to write.
It was a real struggle and so perhaps I shouldn’t have pushed myself.
However, I’m glad I pushed on through as, whilst this is not good writing by any stretch of the imagination, it’s keeping me writing.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 1031: Rushed Rambling

Not much time, but that’s just how I seem to like operating half the time it seems.

There probably are better ways to operate, but now I am doing this and in this being done I am doing it and I’m getting it done and in getting it done it will be done but I don’t know as to what it is that I’m going on about.

Fingers race across the keyboards and as they do I write the words. Words come forward and they are visual and we use our eyes to read them. However, sometimes I wish there was braille internet as that would make it significantly more accessible.

Well, maybe it wouldn’t. I really don’t know and I’m ignorant of the ways that The Internet is accessed as, to be honest, I’ve never really looked into it. My understanding is that there can be voice activated commands that help people who are visually impaired navigate computer stuff and so I should probably look into this more so that I have a better understanding. That said, I feel it would be pretty awesome if there were screens that could replicate braille.

Maybe there is research going into such a thing and as it happens then there will be the freeing of technology and thus people will be more able to access The Internet more easily. That would be a good thing, I think.

There are a lot of things that I think, however, and so it might be important to understand that in thinking a lot of things not all thoughts are necessarily ones worth pursuing just due to how foolish they may or may not be. However, I think that, if the research is not happening, this might just be one worth pursuing.

I think though that I’ll stop writing about that as there are other things that I need to get into and needing to get into those things I need to find a way to craft the narrative of which is the narrative that I am spinning, or at least trying to spin as in trying to spin those narratives there are things that come forward and then the whole thing blooms and wilts through the whimsy of fate, or maybe it is the whimsy of chance. I am yet to find out at this particular moment, but I’m sure that in enough time I will find out. Maybe.

I think that I’ve thought about this too much, and yet not enough at the same time. The reason as to why I think this is that I feel I’ve thought in the wrong direction and so I need to try and find a way to get back on track and therefore hopefully find the way to think in the correct way. However, with all of that being said I think I’ve gone as far as I can for the time being and therefore I should try and find a way to neatly wrap this up.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 05:30:86

This I wrote mostly because I needed to push myself to write at the moment.
I think that at some point (assuming I remember) I’ll follow up on this.
Should try and find out what I can before I do though. Better to be informed.

Wave Between Rock

This is another recent photo.

I like the implied violence of the water here. There’s a lot of power in its motion, though it seems to lose a bit of that as it gets closer.

I also like the texture and the detail in the rocks. Helps with the sense of drama to some extent, somehow. Also also like how the wetter geological areas help to delineate shading.

This is my submission into the one hundred-and-seventy-fourth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The theme for this one is “Shapes and Designs“.

I feel that in a way this fits as due to mining this area has been reshaped and so there are shapes here that may not have existed before any mining activity.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This one is curated by Patti. The next one is guest curated by Lindy Low LeCoq.

I recommend participating in the challenges. They’re enjoyable and allow room for interpretation of the theme without straying too far. If you don’t participate, then I recommend that you at least check out what others of the Lens-Artists community are submitting.

I hope you enjoy.

One Thousand Word Challenge 157: Rambling Once More

And so it begins once more, after once more another long and heavy day full of drama and bullshit and false accusations that I do not appreciate due to how they carry. Such is the way of things and as such, I must deal with them in a manner that allows me to deal with them. I’m sure others have to deal with the bullshit of others too. It’s unfortunate, but it is a thing.

You can only hope to get away from it all at some point.

So anyway, I sit here and I struggle to type, but I get the words out and getting the words out is half the battle. The other half is making sure that things make sense and that is something of which I am having a bit of a struggle with at the moment, but you’ll see that I go against that in this writing and all of this might just make sense. Sure, a lot of it will be banal, but still, there will be sense and it will make that sense. Then again, maybe it won’t and really I’m just being deceptive. It is too early to tell, however, and so we will just have to see what happens from here to the end of this writing.

As I write this there are many things that are happening. There are people driving. Some are smiling and some are crying. Some people might walk and others might jog. There are birds chirping and various other animal sounds out there. Flowers are dying and flowers are blooming, and a city groans silently as it is rendered cold from the setting sun and the encroaching night.

Actually, the setting sun wouldn’t render the city cold, but that is just what I am saying here as that seems to make the most sense to include in that particular sentence. Anyway…

there are a lot of things happening and there are a few things happening in here, but those aren’t worth getting into as they don’t cover much; I’m writing, I’m breathing and I’m listening to music and there’s a faint suspicion that the air is moving around me, but I’m not entirely sure as I am yet to check that out. Don’t really want to and would rather just keep going with this if I am to be honest, and to be honest I’d rather be honest than deceptive in this particularly trying time.

Well, to be fair I don’t often enjoy being deceptive. Sometimes you may have to, but that doesn’t mean you want to, or something. I should say that I don’t want to even if I may have to on the odd occasion, but anyway I think the point has gotten across and really, that’s more than I could ask for at this particular time.

You see, I’m currently writing rather flatly, though it’s probably not any more flat than usual now that I think about it, but I am writing flatly and the reason for my flat writing is that I’m just trying to stay calm at the moment and not go into a rage about the events of today. It has been long and heavy, and maybe it was longer and heavier than yesterday. I don’t know and I don’t want to try and think about it too much. After this I want to write something a little more joyous, but I can’t right now. I need to get this out of the way first. After that, then I can try for something more joyous.

Maybe I just need to write miserably for the rest of the evening and really pile it on so that all are weeping by the end of the reading time. Maybe I should do that. However, it is not sadness of which I want to invoke, but rather I don’t know where I’m going with this and so sadness is not that which I shall invoke. Instead I will try and invoke something else. I will try and invoke a sense of writing and then once that comes across I will get on with whatever it is that I need to get on with in order to achieve things that I am yet to achieve and so on and so forth and you get the idea.

I think that truthfully I just need to spend the rest of the evening doing what it is that I want to do and then getting that out of the way, then moving onto the next thing which would be resting. Sure, I could rest now, but there still remain things that I need to get out of the way and all that.

Now that I’ve that out of the way, I think that I need to think about some things and try and get away from the bullshit. Maybe the next thing that I write will be a bit happier, but I don’t know. Not really feeling it right now, but sometimes that’s just the way things go and that’s something I need to deal with right now. Still, I’m here and I’m getting this done at least. That’s some sort of progress and I need to consider that a good thing as in some manner it is a good thing. It is a good thing to be getting things out of the way. It is a good thing to do the things that you enjoy doing.

I think I’ve made my point as clear as I possibly can make it.

Anyway, I think I’ll have a slight breather before I get back into it. I could take multiple breathers, but a single one should suffice. A single one is just one and it’s more than none and that should be okay.

See, I’m rambling now and I don’t want to ramble. I just want to get on with things, but maybe that’ll happen a little bit later. However, if it doesn’t, then at least there was rambling.

The time it took to write one thousand words: 10:34:51

I was trying to keep this focused and for a while it seemed as though I was going to succeed. However, it was not to be.

Written at home.
