One Thousand Word Challenge 112: Have to be Responsible

It’s early and already I am getting distracted. Getting distracted is not a good thing at this juncture in time. There are things that need to be done, or something. Therefore, I need to do those things in order to be able to get things done, or something.

Especially the something.

So it’s early and it is pleasantly cold and therefore there needs to be some sort of activity done in order to warm up, so therefore I will be warm at the end of the activity, assuming that I do the activity to the best of my ability which is something that I should do if I want to be warm. However, I also want to be lazy and complain about it being the daytime which means I have to do things that I don’t want to do. I have to be responsible. I have to do the adult stuff.

Oh, why do responsibilities have to exist? Why do they have to torment my soul and menacingly gnash their teeth at my existence? This is an unfair and unjust thing that I have to deal with and therefore it should be abolished so that I can get on with being free and not having a care in the world. This is unfair and unjust and all those other things that I wan to say that it is.

On top of all of this I will soon need to eat and I don’t know who invented the need to eat, but I don’t like them. I’d rather eat of my own volition than due to a need to sustain myself, thank you very much!

I think I’m going a little too silly now, but anyway…

So what am I to do? I can relax, sure, but there is the art of responsibility and tackling that responsibility. There is a desire to get warm which requires some sort of exertion that I am feeling unwilling to engage with, and there is a need to do other things. I don’t want to do all of this and instead I just want to get on with getting on and take care of something whilst ignoring others. This is a most unfortunate situation and I see not a way out, which is rather frustrating.

I guess the only way out, really, is to do all of the things and make sure that they are done in some sort of order that makes sense. However, that would then involve not being lazy. That would involve putting in some sort of effort into whatever it is that I need to take care of and I don’t want to do that as then I would be beholden to the doing of things through the act of doing things and therefore I would feel some sort of being bound to the things that I am doing.

At the same time, if I don’t do the things it might just be more difficult to get warm and do the things that I need to and want to do and therefore I should do the things in order to have the things done and therefore get on with my life in a desire to be productive, which is something that I do indeed desire, but don’t want to right now for fear of being productive which is something that I want to do, but at the same time don’t want to do due to the desire to be lazy being far greater.

I think that what I should be doing is, instead of complaining and whinging and all that other stuff, I should just get on with the getting on and do the things so they are done. Then, once the day is over, I can relax a little and once I’m in a state of relaxing I can say that I got some stuff done. I should try and be a little busy so that I can relax a little more later. I might also get warm and then I can’t complain about the cold.

What if the truth of the matter is that I want to complain and that I unknowingly feel that doing stuff removes my ability to complain? What if that is the truth of the matter? Then what? Should I try to fight this off and do something else? Should I look at what other options are out there? Should I not worry about it and embrace it for what it is?

Perhaps there needs to be some sort of balance and I need to find a way to find that balance. If I can do that, then perhaps I will have a bit more balance in my life. However, that would be less fun than, say, rambling on about it at length for no reason other than a desire to ramble on. Somehow this shows that despite my wanting to be lazy, I am not being lazy and therefore I am defeating the laziness whilst also complaining and whinging and all that other stuff, therefore creating a situation where I get to claim the best of both worlds, but that claim shall not be made today as there are other things to complain about and they require less effort and energy than writing about it, which is not what I am going to do today as it is a pleasant day. Sure, it is a bit cold but I don’t mind the cold.

That all said, I should probably try to warm up a bit as I’m feeling it a bit more than I would like, so I guess it is time to get on with the doing of the things and the being an adult and taking care of my responsibilities so I can get on with other things and slowly fill out the day with stuff.

I say that, but perhaps there will be nothing at all. Perhaps it will be a lazy day, but at this stage do I really know?

This was quite easy to write. It felt like it flowed on out rather easily.
Perhaps that has to do with how little it goes anywhere.

I feel the eating bit is pretty crappy writing.

Narrow Neck Plateau

Here’s a photo of the plateau I walked across on both of my attempts to get to the top of Mount Dingo.

I like that, without revealing everything, there’s a sense of the size of the plateau. It feels quite large. In part due to the plateau’s fire trail being visible in parts, suggesting the pathway before it completely disappears and leaves the rest to the imagination.

I also like how you can see parts of a storm behind it. This was the storm that I’d captured and was caught in earlier in the day. It was approaching where I was at this time. I took a few photos of it at different distances and felt its positioning here worked best with the plateau.

I think its great how the vegetation helps to clearly show slopes and terrain.

This is my submission into the one hundred-and-thirty-ninth Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

The theme for this one is “Special Moments“.

This one is special to me as it was an opportunity to see a place I’ve visited and walked through in a different way.

The challenge is hosted by four people and cycles weekly:

Week 1 – Patti

Week 2 – Ann-Christine aka Leya

Week 3 – Amy

Week 4 – Tina

This week’s challenge is curated by Tina. Next week Beth of Wandering Dawgs is guest-curating.

The challenges are pretty fun and there’s a lot of room for interpretation that doesn’t get in the way of enjoyment. If you’re into photography, then I suggest participating, or at the least checking out what other people are submitting.

I hope you enjoy.

A Poem About Quietness and Sound

Not sure about this one, but then again I’m seldom positive about the quality of these bits of poetry.

This one I think is pretty clear and direct. Probably more so than other “poems” I’ve written.

I hope you enjoy.

A quietness outside
Occasional stretches
But otherwise “silence”

A sound inside
Somewhat clear
Yet distant and vague

Somehow the two meet
In sensible unison
And paint the background

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 913: I Feel Awake

For the first time in a rather long time I feel awake and it is a great feeling to have.

Well, to be fair, I feel awake most of the time so to clarify I feel significantly less tired than usual, which might just translate i0nto being more productive. Don’t know yet, but will soon find out. Or maybe I won’t; there still is plenty of time to tell and telling the time is not what I am doing at the moment. There are other things that I need to tell things and telling the time about how I need more time to find out how awake I truly feel is not something I have the time for, or maybe I don’t.

So anyway, I feel awake and it is a great feeling to feel awake, but of course it is fleeting so I best make the most of it whilst I still can. I could make the least of it, but in this being awake I should be more productive rather than less productive, so productive is what I will be, or maybe not. There are options. Work is soon approaching and that requires more attention, so maybe that will take up the bulk of today’s desire to be productive. Soon I shall find out. There will be the doing of the work and there will be the avoiding of the doing of the work in a lovely dance I refer to as “The struggle between not getting fired and doing other things”. It is a beautiful and dangerous dance that implies the requirement of skill, but i0n reality does not require much outside of the doing of the things. Such is the way of the dance.

Still, maybe there will be room for both things and therefore I’ll get a little bit more done than usual. This is what I hope and even though hope can be fleeting, it is a great motivator toward being more active about things, which often can be better than doing nothing, depending on how long you’re doing nothing for, of course. Rest is also important; you can never deny getting rest as denying that could have consequences that are unforeseen. It depends on how much you take on, I guess.

Anyway, with all of that being said I think that I should start getting ready. I have not much time left before I need to start digging into things and I want to make sure that I am indeed ready to go. I don’t want to be lacking in the department of readiness as that would mean that once more I am doing something that probably isn’t the best thing in the world to do, which would be racing about and therefore not feeling too relaxed about starting the day of work. I think that, considering that I feel less tired than usual I can pull it off, but who knows at this stage? Only can wind carry the truth with ease.

I feel this increased in silliness toward the end.

A bit rambling which is fine. Could’ve been better.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 912: Begins in the Morning

And so it begins in the morning and it traces its way around the page and off to off the desk and down onto the ground. On the ground it has more room to move around and so it traces itself a little further than it normally would. Thia is the first time it has traveled as far as this bit of travel, so it moves cautiously as it does not want to overstep.

However, that caution does not last and soon it is out of the room and all around the house. It spreads out as it moves forward and sees and experiences new things that it had not the opportunity before, so it decides to take advantage of the freedom it suddenly feels it has. It goes fast and it goes forward and does not turn around. Occasionally there is some stopping, but mostly it’s full speed ahead. It knows not when it will have this opportunity again.

So many sights new and foreign to it, and so much wonder being had; such was the way when given the range to move. Soon it was out of the residency and down the street, absorbing new things and continually accelerating as there was no telling just how much time it had before all would have to be turned around. Maybe it had all the time in the world, and maybe it had no time at all. There was no telling, but rather than dwell on the uncertainty, instead it raced on ahead and took in what it could.

It was such an open and vast world compared to the confines of the desk. Everything was spread out and shaped so differently, though of course some shapes appeared to hold some sort of lingering sense of familiarity, but that lingering was for later and not for now;. For now it was all about the exploration. Not too far from home, but of course that ended up going out the window the more that it became apparent that there was a lot to see.

And so it continues to explore and keep on going. There seemed to be a sense of different, yet entirely similar as rows of trees lined streets and cars of different makes, yet similar appearances appeared. These too were absorbed as they were passed on by. This was a new world and one that was worth experiencing for the time being. It keeps on racing forward and it keeps on going, but soon it turns around and starts making the journey back.

On the way back the lighting seems different to how it was earlier and everything is cast in a different way. There’s more of a sense of vividness; a wonderful display of great colours spreading across the sky and reaching all sorts of things, and so the journey back is as fruitful as it was on the journey away.

There was an experience of both the busy and the relaxed, but overall it was pleasant.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 911: Ill Ramble

Feeling rough, but managing. Don’t want to feel rough and just want the day to pass on by. I want this feeling of illness to be over, but of course the only way to beat it is to wait it out and waiting it out is what I’m doing. Taking time, but so many things do. I don’t want to complain, but I will.

Whinge whinge whinge whinge whinge.

I don’t know what else there is to say really. It has been a long day. A stressful one this morning and now it just keeps on going and I seem to be stuck on a particularly lengthy stretch that refused to end and refuses to relent, so I’m stuck here, frozen in a slow part of time and there’s little I can do about the issue, so yeah. Yeah.

It’s all about the waiting it out and the day is nearly there and I’m just being dramatic, but I want to be dramatic. I want to make this a bigger issue than it actually is. I don’t know if I can, but I can certainly try and trying is what I am doing. There may be no success, of course, but there will be plenty of trying. Maybe I will get there, but I probably won’t as the day is in the afternoon and it nearly is time for sleep. Of course this is if you consider about six to seven hours away being nearly here, of which it is not and so… yeah.

So anyway, there soon shall be rain and rain shall fall on this region and there will be some other stuff and it all just continues on and on and sleep will be had and then there will be the waking up and all the things that come with that as tomorrow will be a different day to today as today is Friday and tomorrow is Saturday and of course that brings with it a whole slew of things that I am yet to consider right now. I should consider those things but I won’t as there is no time for that. Feeling ill is where my scene currently lies and that is something that I need to be more willing to embrace, or something. I think. I don’t know.

I don’t know where I’m going with all of this. I’m sure there is something in the imagery of the words, but it is lost to me and so I can only continue on aimlessly and blindly, hoping that the exit reveals itself sooner rather than later and then I can get on with the resting that I want to do, assuming that I even want to rest of course. Maybe I don’t want to rest at all and just keep on going. It is all a mystery, much like my continuing with writing these things, though of course it is not and I’m just pretending or something.

Anyway, it is time for some more rest.

New South Wales 42 Class

I saw this train at Central station a few weeks ago.

Not much to say, but I like how it has a partially rounded appearance.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 910: Realised Within

Alright, so it has been a bit of a nothing day where very little has happened. There were attempts; Oh, there were attempts. However, much was thrown by the wayside as the car kept on speeding off into the ever-increasing distance.

On a more serious note, there was some stuff that was meant to happen but it had to be postponed to tomorrow, but I digress.

So now where to go from here, other than to where the place of location happens to lie off in the approaching location that the location is located?

Of course I could just not do that and keep on going. Keeping on going is always an option. I need to keep that in mind. Not a problem with doing that. Not a problem with doing a lot of things, but that in particular is not a problem to do if I do go ahead and do it, or something.

Then again, maybe I should just stop rambling and get on with it and get off where I should so that there is more, rather than less done. However, that would defeat the purpose of whatever this is and therefore I shall not do that as I must stick to the idea and concept of purpose so that I can get to whatever it is tat I am pretending to get to, or something.

Perhaps I need to ruminate on that something and then fi0nd a way to extrapolate the art of the words that I am looking for. Maybe something profound will reveal itself as a farce and the farce all along was the inner profoundness we found along the way.

Of course in order for this to happen properly there needs to be some sort of long stretch of road and some mountains off in the far distance. Need to make sure that it all goes right so that the lengthy, inner stare outward reaches off beyond a mere curve and slight incline. It needs to go beyond words and it needs to transcend genres.

Then there will be some sort of empty bitterness that is hard to beat, but you still gotta make sure that it somehow is beaten and then the continuation of the continuation can continue. Only then will it all line up and make sense and everything will come into the state of realisation that it needs to be realised within. Suddenly all the pieces will fall into place and it will all make sense and there will be a bit of hurt, but ultimately a weight will be lifted off of the shoulders and finally there will be the walking free of that which held one back.

the road ahead used to look daunting, but now it reveals freedom and the exciting possibilities of the unknown, but that is neither here nor there and of course the main thing to keep on doing right now is driving. There will be stops, but for now it’s just driving onward.

This went somewhere. I guess that’s a change.

Facing Two Directions

More of The Sydney Opera House.

With this one I think I was trying to capture the shape of these two sails together. Maybe I just liked the difference in perception of angularity. Not sure.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week.
I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit.

A lot of what people are submitting will likely end up here.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 909: Celebration Time

Once more an early waking up and once more I’m going to get more, rather than less, done… I hope.

I don’t know why I keep allowing myself to do this to myself. It’s not a healthy cycle, and yet I keep on doing it. Maybe I’m trying to transcend the need for any form of rest, but of course lack of rest requires some form of restitution; it’s not something many can overcome, and so I should stop fighting this. However, I am happy to say that this morning it is not my fault and therefore I am free of blame.

This is of course cause for celebration. I am going to celebrate hard and celebrate like I’ve never celebrated before. This celebrating will involve the getting ready for work as there is no time to celebrate and there is no celebration quite like the “getting ready for work” celebration. Awesome stuff.

Perhaps I will even eat something that provides sustenance, such as food, or food. There are so many options to choose from, but there will be celebrating. I will celebrate so hard that I will look like I am not celebrating. That is the true way to celebrate.

Oh, to be free of the responsibility of the actions is such a wonderful feeling. I feel as though JI can do anything, so long as that anything is within reason, and I have plenty of reason to be within reason for my doing of anything. I feel like dancing, so maybe I will dance. Maybe there will be a great amount of dancing, so long as that dancing is confined to a period of only a few minutes at a time at uneven intervals interspersed throughout the day. This would truly be momentous in some manner as dancing often requires momentum, so therefore I will be engaging in the art of momentum. Truly wonderful and all that other stuff.

I am so filled with joy, it is as though I have no sensation of joy within me right now and am actually feeling quite fatigued. This is all wondrous and exciting and a whole bunch of other things that I’m having difficulty putting into words as sometime that is the way that things go, you know. Sometimes I am just so happy about the fact that I am free of responsibility that I just lose the ability to put things into words and therefore I find myself stuck in a position where I don’t know as to which way I should go. Of course this is not taking into consideration that the way to go is in the direction of the desk of work where I shall due the work of which I need to do in order to get money to spend on survival, but still, you get the idea.

So it is time for celebration. It is time to scream in joy and dance and do those other things, but only in small and finite quantities.
