Looking Down

Posted on January 27, 2021 by Stupidity Hole

Just a photo of an ibis looking down. At least, it looks like it’s looking down. This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s “Monochrome Madness” for this week. I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other … Continue reading →

Approaching Flight

Posted on January 13, 2021 by Stupidity Hole

I feel as though this is slightly on the subtle side, though admittedly I may be giving myself too much credit there. Besides, this capture had a lot more to do with luck than skill. I like the slight implication … Continue reading →

Gull Over River

Posted on January 10, 2021 by Stupidity Hole

This is an image of a silver gull flying over Cooks River. I don’t think that there’s anything particularly special about this photo, but I do like that it carries a sense of stillness more than it does a sense … Continue reading →

Small Hop

Posted on January 5, 2021 by Stupidity Hole

On New Year’s Day I went for a walk and took photos of birds such as this ibis. I was following the ibis in the hopes that I’d photograph it as it took off. Instead I got this shot which … Continue reading →

A Gull Adrift

Posted on December 6, 2020 by Stupidity Hole

During my recent visit to The Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney I saw this silver gull floating about seemingly aimlessly on the water’s surface. Occasionally it would move, but otherwise it appeared to be content doing very little. This shot … Continue reading →

Rear View Preening

Posted on November 27, 2020 by Stupidity Hole

Behold! Another ibis preening. Slightly awkward angle but I like how it makes the ibis look like a feathery lump with legs. I hope you enjoy.

Three Mistletoe Birds

Posted on November 26, 2020 by Stupidity Hole

Also known as Dicaeum hirundinaceum. This is what I feel was a rather lucky shot. Only able to capture it due to my partner noticing the one standing on the top of the statue. I think I kept looking back … Continue reading →

Ibis on a Fence

Posted on October 13, 2020 by Stupidity Hole

A bit of a dark photo, but I’m fine with that as it draws more attention to the ibis’ shape than it does the details on it, though it is nice that you can see some of the feather positioning. … Continue reading →

Manorina melanocephala

Posted on September 25, 2020 by Stupidity Hole

This was taken whilst on a recent walk. There was a shot of this noisy miner I took just after it commenced flight, but unfortunately there was a power cable that was really distracting to the shot, so here’s this … Continue reading →
