Five-Hundred Word Challenge 312: Mobile and Stationary

Clearing my throat in the standby mode getting ready to be the best that could ever exist until I get better than the best.

Standing on a floor made of paper through which I can only see the night when it faces the day.

I know that there are many things to overcome but in the weightless void of my mind there is a confidence and desire to overcome.

I am here. I am alive. I am mobile and stationary to that which surrounds my being.

I can see nothing but and endless space filled with much possibility.

There is much at which I need to grasp, yet I know not which to pick, for they all present equal chances.

Upon the floor I walk one step forward toward something with a great deal of certainty not usually found within my walking.

The ocean I am trying to envision is crying out for some sort of shape and image so it knows its formless boundaries.

The hair I hold is catching on thew winds as I try to press outward more than I ever have before, trying to escape and yet choosing to remain firmly rooted within my scalp.

I can only stop and stare as shapes come forward into some sort of cohesive reality that is not mine, for it is not what I think I see.

However, I continue forward into something I do not know and will never realise, for there is a side at the end that I must reach if I am to continue on toward something resembling something that I am a little more unfamiliar with.

The lands are convulsing and the vegetation is heaving.

Across the way is an entrance into that which I do not know and that which I wish to find out.

I keep on moving forward, attempting to get past the ocean that I am trying to form that is not mine whilst the shapes continue to put themselves in place as the land convulses and the vegetation heaves, yet I weigh myself down with my own sense of insecurity, refusing to cast away the weight that I am choosing to burden myself with.

Still I persist for the side is within view and despite my own choices there is still will to overcome all that which I use to pin myself down with.

The wind whips at my face and claws at the scene, threatening to carry it away with it along some sort of journey that only the wind knows.

I am convalescing within myself.

I am choosing to continue on because there is much to not be known.

I am searching for an other side.

I am trying and I will find a way.

I am as formless as the thoughts I am trying to hide away are existing.

I am as formless as I am within form.

I am crossing an ocean that I am trying to create.

I press inward and continue moving forward.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:34:36

This kind of ended up as some form of poetry.

I think I was trying to be really visual.

Well, it’s more accurate to say that I realised I was being visual toward the middle and continued on.

Not that great a piece of writing but I do like the imagery that it provides.

Small Waves of the Morning Tide

I was going to do a bit of writing this morning, but I feel quite nauseous so I’m going to wait until I get to uni before that happens.

Here’s a photo I took on the first morning of being at Huskisson for the Marine Science field trip.

It reminds me a little of these photos.

I think I went a little too hard on the shade for this photo, but I do like how it makes the rocks contrast with the water and the clouds.

To me, this photo is really calm. Most of the elements feel soft and the surf is really small.

Anyway,I hope you enjoy.

From Buildings, to Trees

I think that this was the last shot I took when coming back from the most recent field trip.

To me it seems almost as though the building is spewing into the tree.

There’s lovely sunset colours in this photo that adjust with the fading light.

I like the contrast between the clouds and sky, and the buildings and trees.

I hope you enjoy.

From Jamberoo Lookout

Here’s a shot from see title.

You can see that the land has not received much rain due to the dryness of the vegetation in the shot.

Not exactly a desired thing. Hopefully the area gets a bit more rain.

Much of the trees has been cut back for agriculture, leaving a few pockets of habitat for some creatures.

I do like how the land meets the ocean in this shot, as well as the dryness contrasting with some of the greener areas.

I also like how the shadow of a cloud was captured in this photo.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 311: Journey Beyond the Horizon

There is talk, there is yelling, there is something over the horizon which cannot be felt, seen, or heard as it is over the horizon, far beyond being close to those would would seek it out, always out of reach, for sometimes in some cases the goal is never in sight.

Perhaps they are chasing a feeling, continuously heading toward a line that is always far from where they are, trying to get beyond what they can see in order to discover the feeling that they may be chasing.

Really though, no one knows what they are looking for. Perhaps they themselves also do not know.

All that has been confirmed is that they are searching and they do not yield to the search.

They continue on, stopping for rest only briefly before resuming, for whilst there is plenty of time for continuing to try and cross the horizon, there can only be success if there is rest mixed into the journey.

Perhaps there is no reason as to why there is this seemingly-foolish determination to do what could be described as impossible. Perhaps it is never about the actual completion of the task, but the actual journey and the pain and joy that comes with it, building the experiences that can only be obtained in this manner and somehow passing them on before they pass on.

Perhaps there is no reason and they know that there is not reason and prefer to be nomadic as it is the life that they enjoy.

There are many reasons as to why these people would try to get beyond the horizon but none are known and they are not forthcoming about whether they know the reasons or do not know but continue to persist regardless.

Sometimes a journey has no end. It does not matter has to how many generations of people try to complete it, for it is a journey that is eternal.

Sometimes a journey will come to an end, whether as a gradual conclusion or an abrupt ending.

Sometimes there is no control over how the journey will end if it does indeed end.

Sometimes it seems to be the case that we are all trying to get over the horizon to try and see what is beyond it; something that is a foolish and yet noble endeavour, so long as we all realise that there is plenty along the way to see and experience, for the destination is not the only thing that is available.

Sometimes there is nothing to see, yet there is plenty to learn along the way.

Even in the banality of the repetition of modern life, there is still plenty that can be found and discovered regardless of how much we want there to be.

Ultimately there are plenty of journeys out there. Some overlap. Some do not.

That is the way that life is. It is full of joy and pain.

A mix is better when we try to journey beyond the horizon.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 09:27:63

Slow, but that’s fine.

I started this off as a fictional piece and then it morphed into something more directly related to life.

It could be much better.

Saccostrea glomerata

On the first day of the marine science field trip I decided to do a minor amount of exploring the immediate area.

On a rock platform I saw many rock oysters.

I was trying to capture the vastness of the area that they captured. I think this photo could have been better, but I am happy with the result.

I like the way that the light of the afternoon sun plays with the colour of the area.

I also like how the rock oysters cover the area, being both cluttered and scattered at the same time.

I hope you enjoy.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 310: A Lot of Fluff

The air con turns on, breaking the still silence with what sounds like a deluge of rain hitting the roof of this building, although the roof is much higher than the floor on which I currently reside, so it would have to be a pretty heavy deluge.

It is not. It is merely the air conditioning playing tricks, being a deceiver and trying to manipulate my thoughts into thinking it is something else entirely.

It will not work for I am alert. Whilst I was momentarily caught by surprise, I will not be fooled by its machinations.

There is a monitor next to another monitor. I am not staring at the monitors. I am merely perceiving the monitors that are in front of me without looking at them right now.

I am awake. I am alert. I may also be inert.

I think I am. I do not know, for certainty is something that is currently escaping my faculties as I float away, lost in my thoughts before the inevitable deluge of calls that will come through, with many customers asking questions that may not frustrate me, but will indeed leave me wondering why they could not ask a better question.

That is not a complaint. That is just something that I choose to deal with on any given day that I am at work, and sometimes on any given day in which I am not at work.

I do know that I am sitting here, feeling comfortable and feeling fine.

I know that there is food in my bag. The food is something that I shall eat later.

I am breathing. I am alive. I am perceiving. I am breathing.

I am not flailing my limbs enough. There is not enough passionate gesturing in my life.

I am trying to write in a poetic manner that expresses the current banality that I am currently existing within in a manner that makes it sound far more exciting than it is, but I do know that I am struggling to express the banality as I am also just writing to keep on writing and get some sort of expression across by veering off the tracks of life and not really doing a good job of doing so, I think.

With that being said, I’m sure that this will be somewhat interesting once it is completed. I am sure that it will be something that will have been written as it will no longer be in the process of being written once it is complete.

I am sure that I am sitting here, waiting for the beginning of something that will have a conclusion, just like my life once I reach my inevitable end.

Not necessarily a bad thing. It is just a thing that will happen.

I do know that right now I am sitting here at a desk, writing away, preparing for the first call of the day, where I shall assist someone.

I’m also talking a lot of fluff.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:03:01

This really was a lot of fluff.

I think I really was trying to do something that was sort of poetic but it didn’t quite work.

Oh well.

Five-Hundred Word Challenge 309: Back from Another Field Trip

Well, I am back from the field trip.

I won’t go into the details of what occurred on it as it was a good learning experience, but it wasn’t exactly what one would describe as being a happy experience.

Oh well.

Today I am here, writing about something.

I don’t know yet.

I know that I am here as opposed to there and I am currently looking for a thing to write about whilst I surf the infinite void of my finite mind, seeing where it takes me so long as it takes me to somewhere where I can think of something that will allow me to channel the very depths of the plumage that I am trying to envision.

I don’t know what I will do when I get to where I intended to be, but I do know that it will be something that I cannot hold or truly grasp, for it is never about the destination, but the journey through life that carries us aloft upon its lofty wings that we must pay attention to, unless the destination turns out to be more important than he journey, in which the destination should be the focus and only grave sacrifice should be considered if it outweighs every other option available, rather than be something that everyone takes because it makes for a more dramatic experience.

Perhaps grave sacrifice should never be considered, as sacrificing graves can lead to all sorts of bad feelings that people do not want to carry with themselves for the rest of their existence. There’s probably a lot of things that people could do that would be much better to the future of everything.

Probably.

Personally I don’t know as I’ve never been in that situation and hope to never end up in that situation as it does not sound like one that I’d have much fun being involved with.

My typing is really horrible at the moment.

Maybe it has to do with being in a slightly odd position with an unfamiliar keyboard.

Maybe it has to do with a lot of things that I can’t put  my finger on, such as Mars and some other planet that I can’t be bothered trying to name at this current moment in time that I exist within, as I do not exist in the past or the future as I only exist in the present, which is always now and not yesterday, although before now was now, now was yesterday when yesterday was now.

I do not know what else that I have to add to the conversation on now, except that now that I have now said something about the conversation on now, I think that now is the time to make some sort of timely escape as I slowly let this drag on into nothingness whilst I struggle to come up with something witty and insightful to say, yet at the same time know that it will not happen, so I will stop.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 06:54:06

I wrote this yesterday and got a bit too lazy to upload it, which may have been a good thing.

Oh well.

Sydenham Station

Here’s a photo of Sydenham Station taken through one of the “Windows” of the car that I was in yesterday.

I like the light of the sunset being cast upon the building, as well as the softness and spread of the clouds.

This is my submission into The Daily Post‘s photo challenge for this week.

I hope you enjoy.

Kangaroo Among the Grass

I wonder if the Kangaroo was sitting there, looking out to the ocean and enjoying the view.

This was taken during the field trip two weekends ago.

When we were heading back to the bus after a lengthy stop, we saw many kangaroos so we spent a few minutes taking photos.

This kangaroo was a smaller one of the mob.

This is the photo that I submitted into Leanne Cole‘s Monochrome Madness this week.

I strongly recommend checking out Monochrome Madness and, if you partake in photography or have an interest in taking it up, then I also recommend submitting something. It’s a small, yet strong community-driven event that I honestly believe is worth the time.

I hope you enjoy.
