Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi: Yuna’s Ballad
This song is used in Final Fantasy X-2, a game I have but have never finished. It’s possible that I’ve heard it play in the game but I’ve no recollection so I don’t know when it is used. That said, I … Continue reading

Hitoshi Sakimoto: Small Departure
I just threw myself into this and I think the result here is verbose. I tried to draw from the scene I remember this song playing in and went from there, but now that I think about it I could … Continue reading

Eduard Artemyev: Stalker – Meditation
I’d planned to write about this song yesterday but it didn’t happen. I think I ran out of time and so was unable to start. I think that writing about it now wasn’t the best idea as I’m pretty tired … Continue reading

Radiowar: The Changing Pattern of Light (Ceremony)
One listen for this one. I’ve spent a lot of the day looking for something on The Internet that appears to no longer exist which led to putting this off a lot longer than I’d hoped. Decided to throw myself … Continue reading

Masashi Hamauzu: The Goddess is Dead
One listen for this one. I threw myself in and just aimed at covering the song in any way I could. I ended up not covering as much as possible (though in a sense I did) and it kind of … Continue reading

Final: ENATKWBY 1
One listen for this one. I planned to write about this song a couple of days ago but I was too tired at the time. Then planned to write about it yesterday, but the same thing. I think not doing … Continue reading

Hiroshi Yamaguchi: Ōkami Shiranui
I wrote this over two listens and the writing didn’t quite pan out. This is one where I thought too much about what I was writing. The result here is that I didn’t cover enough and kind of drifted around. … Continue reading
Gecko&Tokage Parade: little wisdom tooth
One listen for this one. I threw myself into it, just started and got rolling and I feel that the writing, whilst not exactly as lively as the song, is smoother and tighter than other recent bits of writing I’ve … Continue reading
Spencer Nilsen: Motion E
One listen for this one. I fell behind a little as I was focusing on the wrong thing here. I think I was trying to cover all the sounds in the song and it ended up affecting the overall quality … Continue reading
Yoshino Aoki: Bitter Air
One listen for this one. Early on into this I felt unsure as to what I could write. This is a piece of music that effectively creates atmosphere through minimalism and I don’t think I was able to switch off … Continue reading
